Following the assault on Saif Ali Khan, the Bandra Police in Mumbai have submitted a comprehensive 1000-page report detailing the case, along with various pertinent pieces of evidence.
The chargesheet filed by the Mumbai Police, as mentioned by ANI, encompasses a substantial amount of evidence gathered against the suspect, Shariful Islam. Notably, this chargesheet spans over 1000 pages.
The report from the forensic lab pointed out that the fragments of a knife discovered at the crime scene are actually three pieces of the same knife, belonging to both Saif Ali Khan (the victim) and the accused. Additionally, it has come to light that the chargesheet consists of testimonies from more than 70 witnesses, which include Saif Ali Khan, Kareena Kapoor, their household staff, and others.
The court document also outlines how the suspect escaped the crime scene as they travelled from Bandra to Dadar, then onwards to Worli. It is alleged that upon failing to gain entry through the main entrance due to a fingerprint recognition system, the suspect instead used a hidden space (duct) to climb up and later gained access to the first floor from behind the building.
During lunchtime, a report cited a police officer stating that Shariful ascended to the eighth floor via the stairwell and gained entry into Saif Ali Khan’s apartment. In his bag, he had a knife, a hacksaw blade, and a hammer. He then assaulted Eliyama Philip, the caretaker, with the knife, demanding one crore rupees.
As a concerned bystander, I stepped in when the suspect assaulted the caretaker. From behind, I managed to apprehend Shariful. The law enforcement official shared that the culprit attacked the actor unintentionally, not recognizing him. It appeared he intended to rob, and upon realizing his mistake, he became flustered and escaped.
As a lifestyle guide, I’d rephrase it like this: In the course of events, I found myself at the National College bus stop, swapping my attire for a fresh set. The night unfolded there, with me dozing off until 7 am. Come morning, I strolled towards Bandra Talao and discarded the knife and the clothes I had worn previously.
In an obsessive frenzy, I spent around 20 minutes wandering outside Bandra railway station, soaking up the atmosphere. As the rain began to fall, I found myself strolling towards Dadar, a place where I made some casual purchases – a new pair of headphones among them – and indulged in a hearty plate of bhurji pav. The day’s journey concluded with a leisurely walk back to my abode in Worli. However, little did I know that the police would later discover a match between my fingerprints and one found in the duct area, turning this ordinary day into something far from ordinary.
In the early hours of January 16th, I found myself unwillingly thrust into an unexpected situation at my Bandra residence, when an attempt was made to rob me. Thankfully, all is well now.
