Are you weary of consistently outshining your teammates as a standalone tank, often taking on the MVP role? Excitingly, Marvel Rivals and NetEase have now focused on fostering individuality within their competitive team structure.
In a recent update, NetEase revealed that Marvel Rivals Season 2 is starting soon, introducing Emma Frost as a new, formidable Vanguard character known for her beauty and deadly skills. Already creating a stir in the gaming community, she’s predicted to bring changes to the current game dynamics. At the same time, a fresh Domination map located on the mutant island of Krakoa will become accessible for both casual and competitive players.
In the latest update, Patch 20250411, there’s a significant shift: Your individual performance will now impact your Competitive score, regardless of whether your team wins or loses. As per NetEase, this means players can relax knowing they’re contributing well in the lobby, whether it results in victory or defeat.
In future updates following Season 2.0, the points you’ll receive or lose in competitive matches will be more heavily based on your personal performance. This means that if you perform exceptionally well, you’ll earn more points when you win and lose fewer points when you lose.
Introducing a fresh method to determine Competitive Points, taking into account factors beyond simply the team outcome. While victory or defeat remains significant, an exceptional Magneto tank, who excels in blocking damage and critical saves, will receive a higher rating compared to a Spidey player who contributes little to the overall gameplay.

For Marvel Rivals, it’s a nice shift to experience something new because although it’s a game where heroes work in teams, the influence of each character can fluctuate significantly – particularly in hectic group battles. On certain occasions, you become the driving force, while other times, your presence might not be as noticeable.
In a fresh twist for competitive games, it’s intriguing to observe this strategy being used in a collaborative format like a team game. It would be exciting if NetEase keeps improving the mechanism, recognizing outstanding contributions and deterring harmful behavior.
In simple terms, the second season of Marvel Rivals commences on April 11th, introducing equilibrium adjustments and significant toning down (nerfs) for characters such as Doctor Strange in the Vanguard role.
