From what I can recall, people have enjoyed reacting to trailers for a long time now. It’s quite amusing actually, as you’re essentially watching someone experience something new for the first time. There’s an odd satisfaction in feeling like you’re alongside them during that moment. Notably, following the recent unveiling of the latest trailer for Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning (expectedly adding to the excitement for the 2025 movie lineup), Simon Pegg humorously participated in the popular trend of trailer reactions.
Instead of just responding to the latest M:I film trailer himself, Pegg, who portrays Benji Dunn in those movies, chose to respond to a widely shared reaction video about that very same trailer. Take a look at his Instagram post for more details.

Simon Pegg, known for his great sense of humor, recently filmed himself reacting to other people’s reactions on the YouTube channel Heroes Reforged, following the release of the latest Mission: Impossible trailer by Paramount Pictures. He cleverly named this video “REACTION TO REACTION TO MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE REACTION VIDEO!!!”. Throughout the video, Pegg appears both surprised and amused by the reactions of the YouTubers.
The fresh trailer for “Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning” was released on Monday, following its premiere at Paramount’s CinemaCon presentation the week before. Take a peek:
In the trailer, Simon Pegg may not have a significant role, but we can expect him to reprise his character Benji for the sixth time. The actor has been part of the Mission: Impossible franchise led by Tom Cruise since 2006’s “Mission: Impossible III”. Additionally, Hayley Atwell, Ving Rhames, Vanessa Kirby, Pom Klementieff, Angela Bassett, and Shea Wingham are also returning cast members. The trailer suggests that the film appears to be a summary or conclusion of all Tom Cruise’s missions up until now.

Just as these movies are known for, it’s packed with awe-inspiring action sequences and stunts, one of which involves Tom Cruise reportedly breathing in his own carbon dioxide. The filming took place from 2022 to the autumn of this year (with the 2023 strikes temporarily halting production). It was filmed in various locations such as London, Malta, South Africa, and Norway.
The new film will make its grand debut at the Cannes Film Festival on May 14, ahead of the release of “Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning” in cinemas on May 23. In the interim, let’s look forward to more humorous social media posts from Simon Pegg as he ramps up promotion for the upcoming film!
