In the series titled “Mid-Century Modern,” we find three grown men, all gay, opting to share a home in Palm Springs following the demise of their mutual friend. The house is owned by the affluent character Bunny Schneiderman, portrayed by Nathan Lane, who cohabits with his mother Sybil, played by Linda Lavin. Enter Matt Bomer’s Jerry, a somewhat air-headed individual, and Nathan Lee Graham’s Arthur, a witty and sharp-tongued character. The distinct personalities of these four individuals lead to numerous amusing, heartwarming, and humorous encounters during the first season.
In their television run, The Golden Girls were known for their sharp wit and clever insults, a tradition that Mid-Century Modern carries on flawlessly. The cast frequently pokes fun at one another, along with anyone else they encounter in the initial 10 episodes of this streaming comedy series.
