Among the common complaints about Monster Hunter World is that its endgame isn’t challenging enough. However, the latest addition to the tier eight monsters, Mizutsune, seems to be addressing this issue as players find its hunt quite engaging.
However, should you have already attempted to conquer Mitzutsune, be prepared to put forth greater effort as it now appears in its enhanced Tempered state.
A user on Reddit shared their experience: “I’ve participated in numerous hunts, and the sudden, powerful tail slam attack from an enraged Tempered Mizutsune often knocks out multiple players at once.” They added that it happens swiftly. “I’ve even been hit by it myself. The damage exceeds normal Mizutsune levels significantly. Is this feature intended or am I overlooking something?
Regarding its difficulties notwithstanding, it appears that most players find the Leviathan to have advantageous hit areas, robust initial moves and traps, potentially devastating assaults, and what makes it stand out is that unlike Gore, it doesn’t obstruct the camera view.
If you’re seeking more motivation than merely overcoming the challenge, know that the creature beyond is equipped with superior weaponry accessories for various types of arms.
Tempered Mizutsune doesn’t play around from r/MonsterHunter

Let me just say, this Reddit user can’t help but express their admiration for Mizutsune. They find the design simply stunning, hands down the most attractive monster in the game. The fur texture appears soft to touch, and the shimmer in its scales is captivating. The battle is not only visually pleasing but also enjoyable. Even though Bubbleblight status can be a bit amusing at times, it’s still solid. As for the difficulty level, they think it’s just right. Admittedly, they’re not overly fond of the armor sets, but they love the weapons.
In the future, other top-tier monsters such as Rey Dau and Uth Duna may reach tier eight, but Mizutsune offers a refreshing change from the prolonged encounters with Gore Magala and Arkveld that we’ve experienced so far.
