Could Dolly Parton Crash Georgie and Mandy’s Wedding? Montana Jordan Has the Perfect Idea!

In the latter part of Season 1, we find ourselves at “Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage.” Although the season finale might introduce a new character causing strife for the newlyweds, Montana Jordan is brainstorming potential family members for Mandy that Georgie could engage with in future episodes. The actor has put forth an excellent argument for how iconic figure Dolly Parton could potentially join the cast, and I can only cross my fingers that no one named Jolene tries to derail this concept.

Jordan and Emily Osment made an appearance on “The Jennifer Hudson Show” where they discussed their popular comedy series that has been renewed for a second season on CBS. (Fans can catch up on all previous episodes by subscribing to Paramount+.) When Hudson inquired about who they’d like as a guest star, the actor from ‘Georgie’ shared his ingenious plan to persuade the legendary singer to join their sitcom. In his words:

In the series, Mandy doesn’t have a grandmother character. What a wonderful idea if Dolly Parton were to portray her grandmother instead!

Having Dolly Parton, in her charming Southern grandmother persona, reprise her role alongside Emily Osment could be an delightful spectacle, as Jennifer Hudson suggested. Notably, Dolly Parton had guest-starred on three episodes of the show “Hannah Montana,” which are accessible through a Disney+ subscription. However, it remains to be seen if the country legend would suit the role of Mandy’s grandmother perfectly.

I must admit that I harbor some doubts, particularly given the show’s grounding in reality and the widespread adoration of Dolly Parton in this fictional world. However, these concerns might be addressable. Moreover, Jordan’s vivid portrayal of Parton as Mandy’s grandmother piqued my interest greatly; it definitely seems like a fitting role for her.

It seems like an excellent idea to imagine a scenario where Meemaw and Dolly Parton engage in a playful argument, perhaps over some trivial matter or simply catching up on events. I believe this setup would make for a delightful scene.

It would be intriguing if Mandy’s grandmother got involved in Connie’s latest venture, which seems to be bookmaking. The resulting events could make for quite a spectacle. Now, regarding Dolly Parton in the show “Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage“, her southern accent is so pronounced that it may cause viewers to question if she’s related to Mandy and her family, given their less accented speech.

A potential alternative for Dolly Parton’s appearance could be through Mandy’s brother Connor, who has proven his ability to establish connections. Being acquainted with Jay Leno and showcasing musical skills, it wouldn’t be surprising if he also knew Parton. However, a challenge might arise in making Parton resemble her 30-year-old sitcom character, so perhaps Montana Jordan’s idea of creating a different character for Parton holds merit.

No matter the circumstances, I’m hoping for additional guest stars on Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage before the duo decides to part ways. Despite the growing reasons that suggest they might go their separate paths, they seem to be managing their issues effectively. For now, it appears they have some time left together, but only time will tell for certain.

The television series “Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage” can be found on CBS every Thursday at 8:00 p.m. Eastern Time. As we move into April, Season 1 remains captivating, but the season finale is quickly approaching in May, so don’t forget to stay tuned!
