Lately, during the promotion of his upcoming movie, Kesari Chapter 2: The Untold Story of Jallianwala Bagh, Akshay’s amusing banter with producer Karan Johar about Ananya Panday is once again generating excitement.

At a Mumbai event for Kesari Chapter 2 promotion, I, alongside Karan Johar, found myself in the spotlight. Unfortunately, our lead actress Ananya Panday encountered some delays during filming. Upon her arrival, while addressing the crowd, I acknowledged her tardiness due to filming commitments and expressed my understanding, saying “I’d like to share that she was working on set and has come directly here, so I can understand.

Karan Johar stated, “Since that movie is ours too, I can’t say anything about it,” prompting Akshay Kumar to respond with a witty remark, “If it belonged to someone else, you still wouldn’t have been able to speak up.” Here’s the video below:

Kesari Chapter 2 is an historical courtroom drama, inspired by the real-life legal battle led by C Sankaran Nair against the British Empire following the Jallianwala Bagh massacre in 1919. Akshay Kumar portrays Nair, while R Madhavan and Ananya Panday take on significant roles in this movie. Karan Singh Tyagi directs Kesari Chapter 2, which is scheduled for release on April 18, 2025. This film serves as the spiritual successor to Akshay’s 2019 movie, Kesari, where he starred alongside Parineeti Chopra and was directed by Anurag Singh.

This year, Akshay Kumar has an action-packed schedule with films like Kesari Chapter 2, Housefull 5, Jolly LLB 3, and Welcome To The Jungle on the horizon. Similarly, Ananya Panday is gearing up for movies such as Chand Mera Dil and Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri.
