Kesari Chapter 2: Karan Johar says ‘Khoon khaulta hai’ as he reacts to General Dyer’s great-granddaughter’s statement about Jallianwala Bagh massacre

Karan Johar has teamed up with director Karan Singh Tyagi for the upcoming historical courtroom drama film titled “Kesari Chapter 2: The Untold Story of Jallianwala Bagh”, set to release on April 18, 2025. In anticipation of the movie’s launch, a press conference was held recently. During this event, Karan Johar (often referred to as KJo) responded passionately to a statement made by the great-granddaughter of General Dyer regarding the Jallianwala Bagh massacre. Expressing his feelings about it, he declared, “My blood boils” while speaking on the subject.

Under the direction of Akshay Kumar, Kesari Chapter 2: The Hidden Tale of Jallianwala Bagh is jointly produced by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions. At a recent gathering, filmmaker Karan Johar responded to Caroline Dyer’s (the great-granddaughter of General Dyer) comments about the Jallianwala Bagh massacre, which gained attention online. Speaking candidly, Karan expressed that anyone with even a small amount of compassion or human decency would feel enraged upon learning what Caroline said regarding the massacre.

The Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani director, in an interview, expressed indignation at Caroline’s description of thousands of unassuming people as “looters” who gathered on the sacred day of Baisakhi, suggesting it was unwarranted. However, Caroline maintained that General Dyer, a key figure in the massacre, was fluent in several Indian languages and held deep affection for Indians and their country.

In response, Karan Johar conveyed, “How can there be affection in one’s heart when actions reveal only animosity? It’s baffling that she exists in a dreamlike state and is under some illusion, I don’t recognize her or have interacted with her, and I have no desire to meet her.” The Indian filmmaker-producer added that her words fuel his determination.

He expressed his feelings, saying, “I get enraged when I see that video.” He went on to say that her apparent lack of respect for one of the largest genocides in human history infuriates him. “Her disrespect towards it only intensifies my anger and makes me demand an apology even more,” Karan Johar concluded.

In a conversation with Balwant Singh, a survivor of a tragic massacre in 2019, Caroline Dyer referred to the victims as ‘looters’. This is one of the scenes depicted in the movie Kesari Chapter 2, which also stars R. Madhavan and Ananya Panday.
