Logout: Babil Khan BREAKS SILENCE on trolling over repeated apology to woman in viral video; ‘Some particular memes hurt me’

Last year, a video featuring Irrfan Khan’s son, Babil Khan, became widely popular online. In the clip, he could be seen repeatedly apologizing to a woman after accidentally photobombing her. Although some internet users praised his gracious behavior, others criticized him as being overly pretentious. Subsequently, the actor explained that his repeated apologies were driven by feelings of anxiety.

Speaking with Mid-day, Babil Khan finally spoke up about the intense online criticism he faced. He acknowledged his own nature as being too accommodating, which led to the smile he flashed during the event where the trolling occurred. In the heat of the moment, his reaction was instinctive.

He explained, “I was just really anxious when I kept saying ‘sorry sorry sorry.’ It escalated into something bigger on its own. Certain memes particularly bothered me. I felt that deeply.” However, he made it clear that this reaction didn’t diminish his trust in himself. Instead, he suggested taking up scuba diving, creating music, and reading books as a way to move forward.

Babil explained that he decided to take a break from public events following an occurrence. He expressed that he had some aspects of himself he wanted to focus on and improve, not because of any resentment.

He discussed the transformations he underwent, expressing, “I believe it’s essential to strike a balance between the role of a celebrity, an actor, and one’s personal identity as a human being. It’s important to create connections among all these aspects.

In simpler terms, the Qala actor expressed that this era presents an opportunity to redefine the concept of an alpha male. He believes it’s possible for a man to embody strength and masculinity, yet still maintain respectfulness.

In the forthcoming cyber-thriller movie, Logout, Babil portrays a character who is deeply fixated on gaining validation through social media platforms. Despite not being particularly active on such networks himself, he accepted this role to delve into the mystery of why individuals might compromise their self-esteem for validation from people they can’t physically encounter.

Directed by Amit Golani, the film is set to release on Zee 5 on April 18, 2025.
