Arjun Kapoor recently commended filmmaker Sandeep Reddy Vanga for his innovative approach to storytelling, particularly his mastery of sound design, visuals, and framing, which together create a unique cinematic experience. Discussing the upcoming film “Animal,” starring Ranbir Kapoor, Arjun referred to it as a meticulously constructed piece and highlighted various technical aspects and creative decisions that particularly impressed him. Additionally, he expressed being left in awe after watching Vanga’s 2017 Telugu movie “Arjun Reddy.

During an interview with Chalchitra Talks, Arjun Kapoor expressed his perspective on Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s distinct approach to filmmaking, challenging the idea that mass-market films are devoid of their own distinctive cinematic expression.

In reference to a recent interview, Arjun observed that the director’s style is distinct and recognizable, characterized by specific methods in sound and visual editing, along with unique framing approaches.

Arjun highlighted the fact that there is indeed a language used in commercial cinema, and he brought up an ongoing problem he’s noticed in Hindi films – that antagonists frequently lack depth. However, he commended the movie “Animal” for tackling this issue, specifically mentioning how Vanga’s use of masks on the villains made them appear more menacing and impactful.

Apart from discussing various aspects of Animal, Arjun also shared some memorable scenes that particularly caught his attention. He specifically highlighted Bobby Deol’s introductory scene, explaining how the transition from Ranbir Kapoor lighting a cigarette to Bobby’s unexpected entrance on screen was unique and not your typical cut, which could seem out of place but was made effective by the creative sound design.

Additionally, he highlighted the profound emotional aspect of the movie, particularly during the scene when Anil Kapoor’s character encounters Ranbir’s character upon his long-awaited return.

As per Arjun, Vanga chose to make that particular edit pause-worthy, expanding the scope for Anil’s acting and enabling the viewers to deeply sense the father’s yearning. He considered “Animal” as a carefully constructed and skillfully made movie.

Actor of Singham Again also commended Vanga for his exceptional talent in crafting dialogues, stating that his unique approach is incredibly powerful. He highlighted that the director’s dialogue is straightforward and potent, further mentioning that it’s intriguing when a director personally writes the dialogue.

As stated by Arjun, the characters created by Vanga convey deep emotion and intense passion, lending a sense of realism and sincerity to their stories.
