Leslie Odom Jr. will return to star in Hamilton this fall as Aaron Burr.

Originally playing the role Off-Broadway and subsequently earning a Tony Award for his performance, Odom will be reprising his character from September 9th until November 23rd at the Richard Rodgers Theatre. His comeback signifies nine years since he departed the show in July 2016.

After debuting the role Off-Broadway and later winning a Tony Award for his performance, Odom will once again take on his character from September 9th to November 23rd at the Richard Rodgers Theatre. This marks nine years since he last performed in the show, having left in July 2016.

Leslie Odom Jr.’s comeback to the stage of Hamilton coincides with the production’s tenth anniversary on Broadway, which will take place on Aug. 6, 2025. Speaking about his return, Odom expressed that it feels like a profound homecoming and he is extremely thankful to have the opportunity to rejoin the cast during this significant milestone in the show’s history, as well as to revisit the masterpiece that significantly impacted his life and countless others.

Jeffrey Seller, the producer of Hamilton, was present at the first act two workshop where Leslie Odom Jr. performed “The Room Where It Happens.” Seller recalls this moment as a historic one, and considers himself fortunate that Odom is returning to Hamilton and will once again bring his unforgettable portrayal of Aaron Burr back to Broadway.

Last year, I stepped back onto the Broadway stage, not just as a producer but also as the leading star of “Purlie Victorious: A Non-Confederate Escapade in the Cotton Fields.” This production earned us a whopping six Tony Award nominations, and one of those nods was all mine!

Following his stellar performance in Hamilton alongside Lin-Manuel Miranda, Odom has garnered two Academy Award nominations. One was for his role as Sam Cooke in One Night in Miami, the other for best original song. He’s also made appearances in Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery, The Many Saints of Newark, Harriet, and on television shows like Central Park, Abbott Elementary, and The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder.

He has released five studio albums, including 2023’s When A Crooner Dies.
