Ahead of the Game – Timelie is all about twisty time travel and futuristic robot-dodging, but with a cat

  • Turn back time using your cool time-travel powers
  • Rebuild crumbling pathways like a boss
  • Protect your fluffy feline friend at all costs

Greetings and welcome to Ahead of the Curve, a segment where we share exciting insights about an upcoming video game that is playable even before its official launch! In this series, you’ll discover opportunities to experience games early, whether through Soft Launch, Open Beta, Demos, or alternative methods.

In numerous mobile and non-mobile games, you’ll find an abundance of time travel adventures. Just as the name suggests, Timelie is no exception. You’ll assume the role of a young girl who has forgotten her location and the means by which she arrived there. Your objective seems to be moving from Point A to Point B, possibly in an attempt to escape from the maze-like facility that you find yourself in.

By the way, beware of malicious robots pursuing you for unknown reasons. As you stealthily move about to reach your destination, keep an eye out for their distinctive conical vision pathways. What makes this game unique is that you possess a time-altering ability, allowing you to go back if something goes wrong. Plus, a cute kitten companion will be with you every step of the way, making your complex situation more bearable.

The narrative unfolds via silent exchanges, enhanced by a soft, nuanced soundtrack capable of underscoring the underlying tension while also establishing a sense of sadness.

It might not be a tranquil game to play if you’re prone to stress, considering that even with the option to rewind time, having swift reactions is crucial to avoid getting either you or your adorable feline friend in trouble.

Besides fixing cracked walkways due to fallen chess pieces from above, here’s another useful skill to help you overcome any doubts – you now have even more tools in your toolkit!

So, how do you play Timelie?

It’s been out for a while on Steam, but it’s only currently in
Early Access on Google Play
, with no word on an official iOS release date just yet. You can give the prologue a go before unlocking the full game with a one-time purchase at the moment to see if it’s your cup of tea.

From my experience, I must admit that having to observe the consequences of your time manipulations in real-time could become repetitive and potentially tedious over an extended period. However, despite whether “Timelie” is a reference to the term “timely” or a statement about time being an illusion, it’s a quirky game that might be worth checking out if you own an Android device!
