Jessica Capshaw Set for ‘911: Nashville’ at ABC

Jessica Capshaw is set to resume saving lives on ABC.

The actress formerly known from ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ has signed up to appear on ‘911: Nashville’, opposite Chris O’Donnell. At present, specific details about her character are under wraps. ABC and 20th Television, the production companies involved in the series, have chosen not to comment on the matter.

In February, ABC commissioned the television series “911: Nashville” directly for broadcast, marking it as the third show within Ryan Murphy Television’s first-responder franchise. ABC subsequently renewed the original series for a ninth season (its third on the network following six seasons on Fox) in March. Meanwhile, “911: Lone Star,” which was based in Austin, came to an end after six seasons on Fox in February.

In this new series, O’Donnell will portray Captain Don Sharpe, a man who simultaneously oversees Nashville’s most active fire station alongside his son. Interestingly, he’s also an avid rodeo rider in his spare time. As with many of Murphy’s shows, specific details about the series beyond its focus on first responders in Tennessee are being kept under wraps for now. This is a common practice with most of Murphy’s productions.

For 10 consecutive seasons, Capshaw portrayed Dr. Arizona Robbins on the TV series Grey’s Anatomy, and she graced the show again with a guest appearance during its 20th season last year. More recently, her work can be seen in Hulu’s Tell Me Lies and the Netflix film Holidate. Capshaw is currently represented by talent agencies CAA and Gang Tyre.

Ryan Murphy, Tim Minear, and Rashad Raisani serve as both writers and executive producers for the series “911: Nashville”. Additionally, O’Donnell, 911 star Angela Bassett, and Brad Falchuk hold the positions of executive producers.
