James Marsden Joins Jon Hamm, Olivia Munn in ‘Your Friends & Neighbors’ Season 2

James Marsden has been added to the Your Friends & Neighbors season two ensemble.

After the first episode of season one aired last Friday, Apple TV+ confirmed that Marsden will be part of season two of the ongoing drama series. This news follows the series’ renewal for a second season back in November. The original cast members for this series include Jon Hamm, Amanda Peet, Olivia Munn, Hoon Lee, Mark Tallman, Lena Hall, Aimee Carrero, Eunice Bae, Isabel Gravitt, and Donovan Colan.

Following an embarrassing termination and a tough divorce, Andrew ‘Coop’ Cooper (Hamm), a hedge fund manager, finds himself in financial trouble. In a desperate move, he starts burglarizing homes in the wealthy neighborhood of Westmont Village. However, what he uncovers about the secrets and scandals hidden behind those luxurious facades might be more perilous than he could have imagined.

Marsden recently acted in the Hulu series “Paradise,” alongside Sterling K. Brown. Among his latest projects are “Sonic The Hedgehog 3,” “Knox Goes Away,” and “Dead to Me.

Coop marks Hamm’s initial main character appearance in a serial production since the conclusion of Mad Men a decade prior. Alongside Connie Tavel and Craig Gillespie, Hamm is also serving as an executive producer.

Jonathan Tropper, the series creator, spoke about the benefits of having Hamm as a producer for the show’s casting to The Hollywood Reporter. He explained that Hamm has an extensive list of contacts, which makes it easier to reach potential actors. Tropper specifically mentioned his desire to cast Amanda Peet and Olivia Munn. He suggested that without Hamm producing the show with him, these castings might not have been possible.

In the upcoming season, Jamie Rosengard, Lori Keith Douglas, and Stephanie Laing will all serve as executive producers. Interestingly, it’s Laing who will take on the additional role of director for this season too.

New episodes of Your Friends & Neighbors drop on Apple TV+ every Friday.
