It appears that the MonsterVerse is recruiting someone who has faced some of the most terrifying monsters previously, according to a recent report from Deadline. Jurassic Park actor B (name missing) is now part of the upcoming Godzilla x Kong film, although the specific role is yet to be revealed.
Originally intended as the climactic finale for Legendary’s North American reboot of the iconic Toho monster franchise, the 2021 release of “Godzilla vs. Kong” surpassed expectations by becoming the most profitable film in the series thus far. This came as a relief after the relatively modest box office performance of “Godzilla: King of the Monsters” in 2019. The triumphant reception led to the announcement of the 2024 sequel, “Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire“, where Godzilla and King Kong will team up rather than fight, with the film’s success paving the way for a third installment currently in production.
At the Sydney debut of HBO’s upcoming second season of “The Last of Us”, actor Kaitlyn Dever disclosed that filming for the still-unnamed “Godzilla vs Kong 3” has commenced. Dever explained to reporters that she was currently shooting another movie in Queensland, and had come to Sydney only for press events, after which she would return. When asked if it was the “Godzilla” movie she was talking about, Dever affirmed this. Although a release date hasn’t been set, the production starting could hint at a release date as late as 2026 or early 2027.
