Meet actor who dreamed of being a doctor, landed her first ad in 9th grade, was K3G’s first choice and now part of legendary Bollywood family

As a lifestyle connoisseur, allow me to introduce you to an extraordinary individual who once harbored dreams of becoming a medical professional. However, fate had other plans when she landed her first commercial during her time in ninth grade, setting her on the path towards the dynamic world of entertainment. Intriguingly, she was Karan Johar’s top pick for the role of Anjali in Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham, and since then, she has graced us with numerous blockbuster films. Today, she is happily married to the progeny of a legendary star. Can you deduce her identity? Indeed, she is none other than the stunningly beautiful and immensely talented actress, Aishwarya Rai.

From birth, Aishwarya Rai hailed from a family who spoke Telugu in Mangalore. Growing up, she resided in an intellectually oriented home; her father was a marine biologist and her mother took care of the household. Academically gifted, she often led her school exams each year. Initially aspiring to be a doctor, then an architect – even studying towards that end – fate had different aspirations for her. Eventually, she entered the entertainment world and has since become one of the most cherished actresses in Bollywood.

The actress known for playing Jodhaa Akbar started her professional journey at a young age. At ninth grade, she made her debut in commercials. Her poise and captivating looks soon grabbed attention in the advertising industry, paving the way for significant commercial projects. Following this, she joined the Miss India pageant and finished as the first runner-up. In 1994, she was crowned Miss World, garnering her international fame.

In 1997, Aishwarya started her acting career in Mani Ratnam’s film Iruvar. Following this, she also made her Hindi movie debut with Aur Pyaar Ho Gaya that same year. However, it was the Tamil blockbuster Jeans, released in 1998 and a massive box office success, that truly catapulted her to fame.

With over a decade of experience in the film industry, Aishwarya has earned a unique niche for herself in Indian cinema through her exceptional acting skills. She’s graced numerous successful films such as Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, Devdas, Jodhaa Akbar, Guru, Dhoom 2, and the acclaimed Ponniyin Selvan series.

In a conversation with Komal Nahta, director Karan Johar disclosed that his original plan was to have Aishwarya Rai in the character of Anjali for the movie Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham. He explained this by saying, “When I was choosing actors for Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham, I found out that Kajol wouldn’t be able to participate in the film as she was already married and might have been planning to start a family.

I expressed, “I decided to speak with Aishwarya. At precisely 3 p.m., I found myself at Kajol’s studio, expecting her refusal, tears, and my departure. Naturally, I was disheartened because Kajol had previously collaborated with me.

Aishwarya Rai is frequently referred to as the world’s most stunning woman, but there’s more to her than just beauty. In her youth, she mastered classical dance and music. She also made appearances in numerous commercials for well-known international brands. An impressive tribute to her was a wax figure sculpted of her, which was first displayed at Madame Tussauds in London and later in New York City and Washington D.C.

Actress Aishwarya Rai married actor Abhishek Bachchan, who is the son of iconic actor Amitabh Bachchan. While filming Dhoom 2, they found themselves falling in love and eventually got married in a traditional ceremony in 2007. Their wedding was a hot topic in Bollywood that year. In 2011, they were blessed with their daughter, named Aaradhya.

Currently, Aishwarya Rai stands as a highly revered actress not only in Bollywood but also in the Southern film industry. Her ability to balance her personal and professional commitments with poise and sophistication is truly commendable.
