Tribeca Festival TV Lineup Includes ‘Gilded Age’ Season 3 World Premiere, Lena Dunham Conversation

The 2025 Tribeca Festival has unveiled its program for the TV and NOW segments. The NOW segment will showcase independent television pilots and series that have been self-produced.

As a gaming enthusiast, I’m super excited about the upcoming TV lineup! I can’t wait to catch the world debuts of season 3 for HBO’s Emmy-nominated period drama “The Gilded Age“, featuring Carie Coon, Morgan Spector, and Cynthia Nixon. Also, I’m intrigued by Apple TV+’s new series “Smoke” from Dennis Lehane, starring Taron Egerton and Jurnee Smollett, following a small-town fire chief on an adventure to uncover hidden secrets.

Moreover, I can hardly contain my excitement for season 3 of “Star Trek: Strange New Worlds“, and the fourth season finale of MGM+’s “Godfather of Harlem“. Lastly, I’m really looking forward to checking out the Amazon Prime Video series adaptation of E. Lockhart’s best-selling novel “We Were Liars“.

Let the binge-watching begin!

The Tribeca Festival’s director and senior vice president of programming, Cara Cusumano, stated that television is a remarkable tool for storytelling today. She expressed pride in providing a home for the creative minds who are reshaping this medium. The ‘Tribeca TV’ segment of our festival is crucial, serving as a meeting point where innovation, artistry, and audience intersect. As the boundaries between film and television become increasingly blurred, our dedication to promoting exceptional stories in every form remains unwavering.

The festival will additionally host a chat with Lena Dunham, discussing her upcoming TV comeback on Netflix’s “Too Much,” scheduled to debut this summer. This series stars Megan Stalter and Will Sharpe, with notable guest appearances by Rita Wilson, Andrew Scott, Andrew Rannells, Janicza Bravo, Rhea Perlman, and Emily Ratajkowski. Alongside her husband Luis Felber, Dunham is the co-creator of “Too Much.

With so many TV shows available nowadays, it can be hard to choose. We’re thrilled to assist our viewers in discovering a curated collection of fresh series and returning hits that they can enjoy uniquely at Tribeca. From the brilliant cast of The Gilded Age to the inhabitants of the starship Enterprise (Star Trek: Strange New Worlds), our TV lineup features an exclusive post-screening talk before the global audience gets a chance to view it. Our NOW program reflects the swiftly growing independent production world and the backing from the creative community.” – Liza Domnitz, Senior Programmer at Tribeca Festival.
