Following the dramatic ending of season 1, it seems almost certain that the storyline will intensify Wilson Fisk’s life significantly, by bringing his son into the picture. The revival of Daredevil: Born Again has resurrected the Netflix Marvel series, and deeply immersed its characters within the narrative. This renewal has also seen many original cast members reprising their roles. However, the characters who are most significant to the storyline, and who are portrayed by Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio, have returned to the show.
Although these two significant characters seem to clash, the series skillfully highlights both their contrasts and interconnections. This creates a captivating narrative that delves into the complex and strained relationships that dominate their lives, as well as the masks they try to wear. During the first season, this dynamic was particularly evident as Wilson Fisk grappled with his newly exposed identity and his troubled relationship with Vanessa Fisk, which seemed to find some resolution by the end of the season.
Wilson & Vanessa Fisk’s MCU Story Is Perfectly Set Up For A Child To Further Complicate Their Marriage
The Relationship Is Moving Towards Even More Drama In Daredevil: Born Again Season 2
Throughout the first season of “Daredevil: Born Again,” Wilson Fisk made a concerted effort to regain the affection and trust of his wife, Vanessa. After being absent for years following their marriage, Vanessa assumed control of the criminal underworld in Hell’s Kitchen. Upon Fisk’s return home, both he and Vanessa found that Hell’s Kitchen had been transformed, as had Vanessa herself. This change created a palpable tension between them, which formed an engaging and intricate storyline for their relationship throughout the season.
As the final episode approaches, it seems as though the majority of the couples’ problems have been resolved. Given the complex nature of this series, more difficulties are bound to surface and strain their relationships further. In light of these potential complications, it could be an ideal moment for the MCU to introduce the son of Wilson and Vanessa Fisk. Now that they seem to be growing closer once more, bringing back these characters would allow them to rekindle their bond on multiple levels; however, their renewed intimacy might lead to a fresh challenge that the couple may not be ready to face.
Richard Fisk Being Born Into The MCU Would Continue A Lot Of Daredevil & Daredevil: Born Again’s Biggest Themes
Identity, Legacy, & Family Are Prominent Elements Of Daredevil’s Story
Reinforcing the credibility of this concept, the inaugural season of “Daredevil: Born Again” emphasized legacy and future as significant motifs. The choices these characters make to influence their environment, along with how they are perceived, significantly impacted the self-discovery of Wilson Fisk and Matt Murdock. Despite vowing to abandon their past lives, both figures recognized that their roles as Kingpin and Daredevil, respectively, define their identities.
If Richard Fisk, son of Wilson and Vanessa from the comics, appears in Daredevil: Born Again season 2, it could serve to reinforce these themes, causing Wilson to contemplate the kind of legacy he wants to pass on to his child. He might find himself wondering if he would be proud to see Richard grow into a man like him, or if he would prefer that his son steer clear of the violent and lawless path that led Wilson to become the villain he is.
Even If Richard Fisk Doesn’t Enter The MCU, The Franchise Does Have Another Option
The Marvel Comics Have Multiple Ways To Expand On Kingpin’s Family Story
Byron Fisk, also known as Butch. As Kingpin’s son, Byron encounters his father later in life and harbors the belief that they shared a romantic past. This offers an opportunity to introduce the familial theme with a grown child, allowing for an intriguing connection between Fisk to unfold.
In essence, if Fisk encounters similar quandaries as before, it’s due to the fact that Butch didn’t grow up with Wilson influencing him, potentially speeding up his thought process. Remarkably, in the comics, Butch eventually assumes the role of Kingpin, yet his rule over the city contrasts significantly from his father’s. Introducing family dynamics into the Kingpin character could offer a compelling expansion on the character and show’s themes in “Daredevil: Born Again”.
