Now, as audiences are introduced to the fresh talent on the big screen, this budding actor has ambitions of landing a significant role within the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

During an interview with Variety, the rising star Miles Caton from “Sinners” was questioned about his preferred role in future films. He expressed his desire by saying, “As a huge Marvel enthusiast, my goal is to be part of the Marvel universe; it’s the crème de la crème.

The outlet subsequently inquired about the superhero character he aspired to play, and he hinted at it by saying, “Well, my name is Miles…” It’s evident that he’s aiming for the role of Miles Morales, who is popularly known as Spider-Man in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

In the story titled “Sinners“, Caton assumes the lead character, Sammie, who is a gifted musician and the child of a small-town pastor. Additionally, he shares a family connection with Michael B. Jordan’s Smokestack Brothers group.

In the film “Sinners,” Caton demonstrated his acting skills, but it’s his past as an R&B singer that might make him a strong contender for the role of Morales. Given that Morales’ character often involves music being a significant aspect of his life and culture, as seen in games like Insomniac where he was pursuing a musical career, Caton’s background could be beneficial.

When the time arrives for the MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe) to find its character Morales, it’s likely to become a highly contested pursuit with numerous aspiring actors vying for the opportunity to play this role.

Why Spider-Man May Not Be the MCU Role for Miles Caton

According to previous statements from Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige, it appears Miles Morales won’t debut in the Marvel Cinematic Universe until after the release of “Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse,” which is set to premiere in theaters on June 4, 2027.

It appears that Morales might first appear in a live-action role in Spider-Man 5, but it remains uncertain if and when this movie will be produced, as Brand New Day doesn’t arrive in theaters until July 31, 2026.

As a devoted Marvel Studios fan, I’m eagerly anticipating the potential return to a bi-annual release schedule for the Spider-Man movies, as was the case with the “Home” trilogy. In his first acting role, Miles Caton is set to appear in “Sinners” at the age of 20. Given that Tom Holland was only 19 when he was chosen for the role of Peter Parker, Marvel Studios might consider casting someone close to that age for their next Spider-Man character.
