What is Jurassic World Rebirth about?

David Koepp, who penned Jurassic Park and The Lost World, is back to write the script for Rebirth, which unfolds five years after the events in Dominion (currently streaming on Peacock). Although many dinosaurs freed at the end of Fallen Kingdom have since perished, one area still teems with giant lizard activity: the initial island research facility established by InGen way back. Over the years following the closure of the original park and InGen’s demise, the creatures on this isolated island have undergone rapid growth and genetic mutations.

In an attempt to utilize the largest specimens for groundbreaking medical applications, a pharmaceutical company organizes an expedition to an isolated territory. Bennett and Kincaid are at the helm of this venture. Predictably, chaos ensues swiftly as countless individuals find themselves being preyed upon by genetically modified monstrosities inhabiting the land, sea, and air.

Apart from Johansson, Ali, and Bailey, the movie “Rebirth” also features Rupert Friend, Manuel Garcia-Rulfo, Luna Blaise, David Iacono, Audrina Miranda, Philippine Velge, Bechir Sylvain, and Ed Skrein in its star-studded cast.

Gareth Edwards, renowned for his expertise in colossal reptiles following the initiation of Legendary’s MonsterVerse with the 2014 release of Godzilla, is at the helm of this eagerly awaited film production. The venerable Steven Spielberg, as expected, returns as an executive producer alongside Denis L. Stewart and Jim Spencer. Frank Marshall and Patrick Crowley are serving as producers for this project.

During an interview with Vanity Fair, Edwards playfully hinted that the film is reminiscent of a heist movie combined with Steven Spielberg’s classic films I admired from my childhood. The three movies we were influenced by were “Jaws”, “Indiana Jones”, and the sense of awe and wonder found in the original “Jurassic Park”.
