For many years, Game Freak has primarily been known as the creator of the core Pokémon series, but they have shown themselves to be versatile beyond this role. Recently, they released a game called Pandoland, which is available globally outside Japan, yet it appears that conversation around it is surprisingly limited.
For about a year now, the game has been playable only in Japan. But with its global release, I believe anyone who enjoys delving into vibrant realms filled with invitations for exploration should definitely check it out.
Pandoland: A Casual Adventure RPG
Here’s a fresh promotional offer celebrating the worldwide debut of Pandoland! It appears to blend the play mechanics of Pokemon with the style of Minecraft. Take a look at this: (Link)
In this game, as you explore, you’ll uncover a shrouded world using your own actions. Along the way, you’ll meet over 500 distinct creatures and unearth ancient artifacts, all while delving into the mysteries concealed within different parts of the world.
Despite having a blocky design similar to Minecraft, these characters appear to be inspired by early drafts of Pokémon characters that didn’t make it past the initial concept stage.
Why Isn’t Anybody Talking about It?

As a passionate gamer, I find it a bit surprising that the debut of Pandoland doesn’t seem to be as grand as I expected, given that this is the same studio behind the iconic Pokemon games. After all, Pandoland’s vibrant cast and distinctive creatures perfectly align with their signature aesthetic.
It’s plausible that the developers are choosing to let the game expand gradually without a massive promotional effort, to avoid comparisons with Minecraft and Pokémon, given the success of the Minecraft film.
Apparently, some Pokemon fans had already found the game and are posting their early reactions:
As an avid follower, I can’t help but notice the peculiarity surrounding this highly anticipated game. Despite its grand appearance and promising market potential, it seems to be lacking a significant online promotional effort at the moment, which makes me wonder what we might see in terms of buzz after the weekend.
Launch Promotion
During the current promotion at Pandoland, logging in gives you 15,000 diamonds, 500 coins, a unique character, and a special item. Plus, inviting other players earns you an ‘SR-guaranteed ticket’ for another uncommon character.
This version maintains the original meaning but uses more common phrasing to make it easier to understand.
Pandoland is now available for iOS and Android and is free-to-play.
