Anurag Kashyap found himself in the spotlight recently as he stood up for the upcoming film Phule amidst censorship demands. However, his statements about Brahmins sparked controversy and went viral. Later, he apologized for a comment that was perceived as offensive, stating it was misconstrued. Now, the director has issued another apology and pledged to manage his anger better. He also disclosed that his family was affected by his remarks.

On April 22, 2025, Anurag Kashyap posted an apology on Instagram for losing his temper and making disrespectful comments towards a particular individual. Additionally, he inadvertently made negative statements about the entire Brahmin community.

Anurag admitted that many people who have been significant in his life, including his family and various intellectuals he holds in high esteem, are hurt due to his actions. He caused this pain today.

He stated, “I offer my sincere apologies to my dear friends, family, and community for my choice of words and using inappropriate language.

Anurag assured, “From now on, I’ll make sure this doesn’t occur again by putting in the effort and managing my emotions. If there’s a need to discuss it, I’ll choose my words carefully.

The Bombay Velvet director concluded his note by hoping that he would be forgiven.
