TopMob Flea, a lively newcomer, graced Beijing from April 18th to the 20th, attracting close to 10,000 visitors to the busy Sanlitun Taikoo Li district. Over a span of three days, this event united fashion, culture, music, and food, signaling its reemergence in Asia with a diverse display of artistic flair and camaraderie.
Over 30 domestic and foreign merchants showcased their goods at this marketplace, offering a unique blend of fashion shopping with captivating cultural interactions. Notable attendees included Dime and Polar Skate Co., as well as the Public Housing Skate Team who made their first appearance in China. Previous vendors like GunC and PRM returned to the Flea, reintroducing their vintage styles after its Shanghai event last September.
At ANCHORET, JIAN YE, SEN WUNG & 椒麻水仙, SCRY, and ALIVEFORM booths, Beijing’s fashion-conscious visitors found distinct perspectives on modern design. The innovative eyewear brand INTOIT, known for its fusion of fashion and sports eyewear specifically designed for Asian facial structures, showcased their S1 VEIL and BOUNCE sweetheart collections. Simultaneously, USM showcased their modular design concept through a unique custom booth installation and special lucky draw items from their collection.
At the celebrations, the diverse array of culinary options from CHAO, Charcoal Coal Balls, CUPCAKE COMA, DAO COFFEE, MOTEL 106, and Health United RUFC enriched the festivities. Guests savored unique cocktails, sweet treats, and carefully selected brews — even a unique collaboration wine by Penfolds No. 1 and Hua Chenyu was offered.
TopMob Flea Beijing provided an area for more substantial cultural investigations, going beyond just fashion and cuisine. Artists and groups such as ABS CREW, fRUITYSHOP, THE SCENE, Onoglish Onoglish Goods, and Manamo Takumi highlighted the interplay of culture, music, and art. At the same time, homemade booths by N·C·H·S-CHOOL, SUCRE, and XUE MAN STUDIO exemplified the DIY spirit.
To celebrate this special event, unique partnerships took the spotlight. Hiking Patrol and SOULGOODS launched limited edition T-shirts, while LAMFO and MTPTP presented special collection items. ABS CREW showcased a one-of-a-kind collectible with their limited edition Cans Boy doll, and both Health United and DAO COFFEE released exceptional versions of their products. In fact, DAO COFFEE even created a baseball cap themed around coffee to celebrate the event.
For the first time, I got to experience TopMob Flea in an entirely outdoor setting, which opened up a wider range of activities. FILA FUSION hosted a thrilling skate competition, and I joined MTPT and Hiking Patrol for some incredible outdoor adventures that immersed me in nature. LAMFO led energetic running training sessions, adding a dynamic element to the urban vibe of the event. The cultural influence even extended to Taikoo Li’s retail areas, with must-see events like a Stone Island documentary screening and Helly Hansen’s “City Sailing” forum, where notable speakers shared their insights.
On a Saturday evening, following the market closure, there was a post-market soiree at MOTEL 106, which was organized by TopMob Flea and Carhartt WIP, where Flea’s momentum continued.
