It looks like Moon Knight season 2 might not be coming out right away. But don’t worry, there are other possibilities for Oscar Isaac’s beloved MCU character to make an appearance at some point down the line. Remember, Marc Spector’s storyline isn’t wrapped up yet after the end of Moon Knight, and the same goes for Steven Grant and Jake Lockley.
Regrettably, it has been confirmed by Brad Winderbaum from Marvel Television that the production of Moon Knight season 2 is not currently underway. However, let me share with you 8 potential ways the MCU can continue to utilize Moon Knight without needing a second season.
8. Moon Knight Appears in Avengers: Doomsday/Secret Wars
Joining The Massive MCU Multiverse Cast
It’s plausible that Oscar Isaac may soon be added to the cast of Avengers: Doomsday, although the current list of actors has not yet been fully disclosed. Given the large number of heroes from various realities uniting against Robert Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom, it wouldn’t be surprising if Moon Knight decided to join the battle as well.
It’s important to mention that Moon Knight isn’t Oscar Isaac’s only recent Marvel character. He’s also portrayed Apocalypse in the X-Men universe by Fox and Spider-Man 2099 in Sony’s animated Spider-Verse movies. It’d be exciting (and probably just a dream) if he got to play all three characters in a single Marvel multiversal story, such as Avengers: Doomsday or Secret Wars.
7. Moon Knight Joins Daredevil’s Vigilante Army in Born Again Season 2
Taking On Mayor Fisk And His Anti-Vigilante Task Force
As I write this, the first season of “Daredevil: Born Again” has just ended. In its climax, Mayor Wilson Fisk imposed martial law on New York City, and he launched a war against all vigilantes using his newly formed Anti-Vigilante Task Force. Consequently, the final episode found Matt Murdock rallying forces to take down Fisk for good.
In the upcoming season 2 of Daredevil: Born Again, it seems plausible that several vigilantes might lend a hand to Daredevil. Characters like Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Danny Rand, and potentially Spider-Man are strong possibilities. However, given Moon Knight’s frequent appearances in New York City comics and his past assistance to Daredevil when Kingpin was first elected mayor, it wouldn’t be surprising if he got involved too.
6. The MCU’s Blade Movie Could Feature Moon Knight
Moon Knight Has Vampire Experience (Dracula Owes Him Money)
It’s been mysteriously challenging for Marvel Studios to perfect their upcoming Blade movie featuring Mahershala Ali, and it looks like it may take more time before we see it on the big screen, stuck in “development limbo” as it is now. However, if what Blade needs is a reliable ally, Moon Knight could be an excellent choice, given his background in battling vampires from the original comics, where he was tasked by Khonshu to protect travelers of the night.
5. Moon Knight Joins An MCU Version Of The Midnight Sons
A More Supernaturally-Focused MCU Team
Ever since the latest MCU entries featuring Moon Knight and Werewolf by Night, there’s been a buzz about potential future stories that could lead to an ensemble project starring the Midnight Sons. In the comic books, this team is known for tackling supernatural threats, and characters like Doctor Strange, Blade, Moon Knight, Ghost Rider, and even The Punisher have often been part of it. Can you imagine the excitement if we got to witness an MCU team of Midnight Sons battling formidable supernatural adversaries such as Dracula, Mephisto, Dormammu, and others? That would be quite a spectacle!
4. A Full MCU Movie For Moon Knight
Marc, Steven, and Jake On The Big Screen
Could it be possible that Moon Knight, played by Oscar Isaac, could transition from a series to a standalone movie in the MCU, just like Pedro Pascal’s character Din Djarin? With the release of The Mandalorian & Grogu movie slated for 2026, perhaps it’s time for Moon Knight fans to witness their favorite character leading his own big-screen adventure. Instead of another season, a Moon Knight feature film could provide an exciting change, allowing us to see the Fist of Khonshu establish his Midnight Mission in New York City, a setting familiar from the comics.
3. Moon Knight Gets His Own MCU Special Presentation
Continuing Moon Knight’s Story Like Werewolf by Night
It’s plausible that instead of a complete second season, Moon Knight might receive a shorter Special Project. This is reminiscent of shows like “Werewolf by Night” and “The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special,” which are approximately an hour in length. A Special Project could potentially set the stage for Moon Knight’s future, more significant appearances elsewhere.
Despite believing themselves to be free from their duties as Khonshu’s Fist after the end of Moon Knight’s season, Marc and Steven are oblivious to Jake Lockley who continues to work as the deadly enforcer for the moon god. This intriguing situation would likely require resolution before Moon Knight can reappear in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
2. Moon Knight Could Join A Team of MCU Marvel Knights
Grounded Vigilantes United
It’s plausible that Moon Knight could be part of a team similar to the Marvel Knights from the comics, which features gritty, grounded Marvel superheroes. Given his role as a vessel for an Egyptian god, Moon Knight may seem unusual, but he could still fit seamlessly into such an ensemble. During the Marvel Universe’s history, many other heroes saw Marc Spector as mad, regarding his being the Fist of Khonshu as nothing more than a persistent delusion.
In the comics, it’s compelling to see the Marvel Knights as part of Daredevil’s group in upcoming seasons of “Daredevil: Born Again.” This also hints that Moon Knight might eventually collaborate with other vigilantes and potentially join an MCU team soon.
1. An MCU West Coast Avengers Project Could Recruit Moon Knight
There’s Been A Few Teases For WCA in the MCU…
It’s important to mention that Moon Knight has been part of the West Coast Avengers team in the comics. Given the fresh faces we’ve seen debut in the Marvel Cinematic Universe like Kate Bishop’s Hawkeye, White Vision, Wonder Man, U.S. Agent, and America Chavez, it’s intriguing to speculate that Marvel Studios might be planning a new Avengers lineup soon (and Moon Knight could potentially join this team).
