Capcom Finally Understands Their FGC Fans Thanks to Street Fighter 6

As a passionate fan, I must admit that when Capcom unveiled the Street Fighter 6 trailer featuring Elena, it wasn’t her stunning appearance in both classic and contemporary outfits that left me stunned. Instead, it was her abilities that sent a shiver down my spine.

In one of the most chilling post-trailer moments the Fighting Game Community (FGC) has experienced, she executes a move, the screen fades to black, and a whisper of “healing” is heard.

It’s evident that Elena will be among the most terrifying characters in Street Fighter 6. Players choosing her as their main character could pose a significant threat, and they might be met with immediate dislike, even if they are as appealing as Mai Shiranui.

Additionally, this demonstrates that Capcom is well-aware of the tastes of Fighting Game Community (FGC) enthusiasts. They anticipated that FGC fans would react with excitement upon hearing the word “healing,” and their confidence in doing so is admirable.

Indeed, it’s worth noting that the company has consistently demonstrated their dedication towards fans of Fighting Game Community (FGC) in the past. For instance, when Street Fighter 5 concluded its season, they incorporated Akira from Rival Schools into the game. Furthermore, in the second Capcom Fighting Collection, they included both Power Stone and Capcom vs SNK games for our enjoyment.

They’re also charging way too much for Battle Passes, but that’s just typical Capcom behavior.

Despite the change in leadership, there are valid concerns among Street Fighting game enthusiasts about Street Fighter 6. Although Street Fighter 5 eventually improved, it took an excessive amount of time, causing many fans to lose interest. Additionally, Marvel vs Capcom: Infinite did not help alleviate these concerns, with a narrow selection of characters and a poorly executed Story Mode.

The FGC will never forget what Capcom put them through, but they can appreciate the changes made.

In the new release Street Fighter 6, Capcom has outdone themselves in crafting a top-notch game. The mechanics are finely tuned to give every character an impressive sense of power, and each one seems to have been carefully created with affection. The addition of DLC characters like Terry Bogard and Mai Shiranui from SNK legends has been met with enthusiasm by fans, who appreciate them greatly.

Including Elena in the company reflects their appreciation for the dedicated fanbase of Street Fighter 3. Although earlier versions like this game weren’t as popular in arcades, its later releases such as Giant Attack and Third Strike have turned it into a beloved choice among hardcore fans, considered the most dedicated entry within the series.

It’s only a matter of time before Makoto and Dudley are added to the game (hopefully).

It’s great to see Capcom catering to the Fighting Game Community, as their recent decisions have been fantastic. From the Marvel vs Capcom Fighting Collection to the upcoming Capcom Fighting Collection 2, there’s plenty to be excited about. We can only hope that Capcom will develop another installment for a lesser-known series like Darkstalkers in the future, but it might take some time.

Fear Elena.
