Blake Lively Reveals Her Mother’s Life Was Almost Taken by a Past Colleague, Thanks Ryan Reynolds for Being “Good When No One Is Watching”

“During her speech at the Time 100 Gala, Blake Lively mentioned that there are many things she wants to share about the past two years of her life, however, she felt that it wasn’t appropriate to do so in that setting.

Vibrant received recognition from Time magazine as one of the year’s most impactful individuals. Recently, there has been a great deal of attention on the actress due to her ongoing legal dispute with her co-actor and director from “It Ends With Us,” Justin Baldoni.

Nevertheless, the focal point of the evening for Lively was to pay tribute to her mom, who bravely survived an attack that almost claimed her life at the hands of a coworker. “What I’d like to address independently,” she remarked, “is the sensation of being a woman with a voice today.” Tonight, it is her mother, Willie Elain McAlpin, who has had the most significant impact on Lively’s life.

My mom didn’t receive justice from the work colleague who tried to harm her when she was a mother of three young children many years before I was born. She often attributes her survival today to stories she heard from another woman who had gone through a similar ordeal, speaking on the radio as my mom drove home one day unaware of the future. This woman vividly recounted her escape, and because my mom chose to listen to this experience instead of succumbing to fear and undeserved shame, she is alive today.” She emphasized this point while holding her mother’s hand throughout the speech.

The actress went on to say, “She was rescued by a woman whose identity remains unknown to me. It’s thanks to this mysterious woman that I am here today, surrounded by you all and receiving recognition. My mom and I are here because she not only lived to tell the tale but also shared her story with others. This unspoken symbol of female strength we’ve come to understand is a bond that requires us to guide others in survival – be it physically or spiritually.

In the movie “A Simple Favor,” its leading actress acknowledged each gentleman present, expressing gratitude towards her partner, Ryan Reynolds, seated beside her mother. She praised him for his kindness and goodness, even when unnoticed by others.

Lively garnered a standing ovation for her emotionally open address; however, not all attendees were pleased that she was being acknowledged for Time‘s award. Among them was Megyn Kelly, who has been outspoken about the ongoing legal dispute between Lively and Baldoni, expressing her viewpoint that this recognition served as a tactic to persuade Lively into attending the event.

Kelly made this statement to The Hollywood Reporter on the red carpet before Lively’s speech: “She’s certainly not present because she’s among the most influential figures, quite the contrary. There’s absolutely no possibility that Blake Lively is one of the most influential individuals in America. Instead, she’s quite divisive. In reality, she’s somehow succeeded in alienating half the nation and her fan base by getting embroiled in what I believe to be a false #MeToo scenario. This year promises to be challenging for Blake.

Back in December, I filed a lawsuit against Baldoni for sexual harassment and retaliation that occurred during our time working together. The court documents were submitted to address these issues.

Baldoni wasn’t included on the list, but Kelly stated that he isn’t among the most impactful individuals either. The journalist, who is featured on the Time 100 list, remarked, “If I had the power, it would only be military personnel and veterans here, regardless of their attire. Frankly, it’s hard to congratulate myself or anyone else in this room honestly.
