Andrew Garfield’s 11-Year-Old Drama With 92% RT Score Comes to Peacock in May

2014 drama 99 Homes will be available to stream on Peacock next month.

Beginning May 1st, you can stream the movie “99 Homes” on Peacock. This thought-provoking film was created by Ramin Bahrani, who is renowned for his work on the 2018 version of Fahrenheit 451. In this movie, Michael Shannon plays Denis Nash, a single father living in Orlando, Florida along with his son Connor (Noah Lomax) and mother Lyn (Laura Dern). “99 Homes” was highly praised by critics, boasting a 92% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Regrettably, the film didn’t perform as well at the box office, generating only $1.9 million against an $8 million budget.

After being laid off and subsequently evicted from our home, my family and I are now living in a small, cramped motel room. Feeling frustrated, I decide to confront the people responsible for my eviction, which leads me to Rick Carver, played by Michael Shannon, who’s behind it all. To my surprise, he offers me a job – one that requires me to assist him in executing more evictions like mine. In 99 Homes, I share the screen with talented actors such as Tim Guinee, Clancy Brown, Cynthia Santiago, J.D. Evermore, Manu Narayan, Cullen Moss, and Nadiyah Skyy.

Garfield’s Other Dramatic Roles

Garfield is particularly recognized for his portrayal of Spider-Man in both the “Amazing Spider-Man” movie series and “Spider-Man: No Way Home,” but it’s worth noting that he has also taken on more serious roles. A notable one among these is the 2016 film “Hacksaw Ridge,” directed by Mel Gibson. In this movie, Garfield portrays Desmond T. Doss, an army medic who finds himself in the heat of World War II battlefields. His exceptional performance in this film earned him an Oscar nomination.

Lately, Garfield collaborated with Marvel co-star Florence Pugh in the 2024 drama titled “We Live in Time“. This film chronicles the poignant tale of a couple dealing with life’s challenges and unforeseen hardships. As per Garfield, he delved into his personal experiences with grief to portray the character effectively. In his own words, “You utilize your life’s experiences – emotions, body, mind, and soul – and you transfigure all that to provide it to a character, then offer that character to others in the hope they recognize themselves in it, feel connected to it, and undergo their own emotional release through it. For me, this is the essence of storytelling.

99 Homes will be available to stream on Peacock on May 1st.
