Lux Pascal Is a Proud Sister: “Pedro’s Taught Me There’s No Reason to Hide Who I Am”

Lux Pascal is gushing over her older brother and his Hollywood domination.

Pascal, known for her roles in Chilean productions such as ‘Veinteañero a los 40’ and ‘Juana Brava’, is the younger sibling of Pedro Pascal. She was interviewed by The Hollywood Reporter on the red carpet of Madrid’s Platino Awards, an annual film and television event celebrating Ibero-America. This took place on a Sunday evening.

As it happens, Pascal’s younger sibling shares with THR that the actor who played The Fantastic Four and The Last of Us character is every bit as talented as fans believe. “I’m extremely proud,” Lux stated. “However, what people may not realize is that I’ve always known he was a star. It’s amusing because people keep asking me, ‘Is he as kind as we imagine?’ And I reply, ‘Absolutely!’

Recently, Pedro Pascal has been making news for labeling J.K. Rowling as a “disgraceful individual” due to her backing of the UK’s legal shift concerning what constitutes a woman. In the past week, Britain’s highest court passed a significant decision, stating that transgender women should not be recognized as women and that the term “sex” in law refers to biological sex. Born and raised with three siblings, including a brother, in Chile before relocating to the U.S., Pedro Pascal publicly identified as a transgender woman in 2021.

What truly stands out about Pedro is his authenticity – he openly displays his true self without pretense, a trait that’s rare in today’s world where we often conceal our identities. This quality of his, I believe, offers a breath of fresh air, as most of us tend to mask ourselves. From him, I’ve learned the importance of embracing my own identity without fear or reservation. I think this is something that resonates with others too.

In a challenging period for the transgender community and growing political tension within the U.S., the youngest Pascal sibling expressed that she’s attempting to “endure the situation patiently”.

I’m immersed in my work right now and would prefer to maintain this focus, hoping the current turmoil subsides. I appreciate the situation we’re in and consider myself fortunate, as I believe this path will make things simpler for others. These are challenging times, especially considering the recent pandemic. Couldn’t we all take a moment to be kinder and more understanding towards each other? Perhaps I’m just an optimist at heart.

The younger Pascal sibling playfully hinted at her upcoming debut in the American film and TV scene. “I’ve got two upcoming projects, and I’ve already filmed one… I can’t reveal much about what’s to come, but yes, there are definitely projects on the horizon for me in the U.S., and I’m thrilled.
