Bhediya 2: Varun Dhawan starrer horror comedy to avoid clash with Love and War and Naagzilla? Find out

Boy oh boy, I can hardly contain my excitement! Just a while ago, I learned that the follow-up to Varun Dhawan’s chilling comedy-horror flick, Bhediya, was initially set for release on August 14, 2026. But guess who else is joining the party? Kartik Aaryan and his creature comedy, Naagzilla!

The rumors have it that Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, and Vicky Kaushal’s Love & War were also planning to steal the show on Independence Day weekend next year. However, it seems like we might be spared a three-way clash as there are whispers that Bhediya 2 could be postponed. Fingers crossed for an earlier release! Can’t wait to see what these talented actors bring to the table!

As per a recent update from Bollywood Hungama, the release date for Bhediya 2 has been postponed, and the creators are now considering alternative dates. The source mentioned that having three major films premiering on the same day would have posed problems with screen sharing. However, with Bhediya 2’s delay, Love & War and Naagzilla can now be expected to release on the same day instead.

The source further mentioned that Love & War’s release date hasn’t been finalized yet.

In a twist of genre, Bhediya 2 belongs to the Maddock Entertainment’s Horror-Comedy Cosmos. Released in 2022, the movie Bhediya marked Varun Dhawan’s transformation into a lycanthropic creature. Amar Kaushik was at the helm of this unique production. The latest addition to the Universe, Stree 2, featured Varun’s character, and he is also anticipated to appear in Thama, alongside Ayushmann Khurrana and Rashmika Mandanna.

In the meantime, Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s eagerly awaited grand production titled “Love & War” is on the horizon. Starring Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, and Vicky Kaushal, this intense love triangle unfolds against a dramatic war setting. The trio has been busy filming for several months now. Originally slated for release on March 20, 2026, recent updates suggest that the release might be pushed back to August due to production delays.

On a different note, Naagzilla represents a movie with supernatural elements that has just been announced. The Fukrey director, Mrighdeep Singh Lamba, is in charge of this production. It is supported by Dharma Productions and Mahaveer Jain Films. A sneak peek unveiled Kartik Aaryan as Preyamvadeshwar Pyare Chand, a character who transforms into a snake. The theatrical release of Naagzilla is scheduled for August 14, 2026, in anticipation of Naag Panchami.
