Anupam Kher will be directing his upcoming movie titled “Tanvi: The Great”. He announced this project last year on social media. Recently, he unveiled the first glimpse of the film but didn’t show the lead actress‘s face yet. Now, it has been disclosed that Shubhangi Dutt will portray Tanvi in the movie. Anupam also shared a video where he discussed how he chose her for the role and referred to her as ‘magical’.
On Instagram today (April 28), Anupam Kher shared a touching video introducing the main actress in “Tanvi: The Great”. In the video, we see Shubhangi Dutt as Tanvi, enjoying each moment to its fullest. Posting the video, the actor-turned-director gave us a glimpse of the fascinating tale behind her selection for the role.
In a post, Anupam detailed his lengthy hunt for the ideal lead actress, which spanned nearly three years. He shared insights about the film’s concept and mentioned that the idea popped up in his mind four years ago during a casual chat. As a persistent actor, he aimed to cast Tanvi from his acting school, but he acknowledged that the process wasn’t straightforward. (Trial By Fire actor refers to Anupam’s role in the film Trial by Fire)
He expressed that she possesses qualities such as goodness, innocence, allure, awe, humor, and purity – traits that are scarcely found and hard to discover. After an extensive six-month quest, Anupam Kher eventually uncovered her during a masterclass at the institution. When he requested the students to close their eyes and stay tranquil, he noticed Shubhangi, her face emanating peace and tranquility.
Later on, she revealed that she was in her “ideal realm,” a place where she felt secure and comfortable.
Additionally, the director inspired her to embody the authentic spirit of Tanvi – sincere, down-to-earth, truthful, and true to herself, as she embarks on this fresh adventure. He shared his delight at witnessing her enter the realm of Tanvi The Magnificent and commended her captivating performance in front of the camera.
Affectionately and with a prayer, he concluded by announcing that people worldwide will soon acknowledge her as ‘ShubhangiTheGreat.’ For him, serving as her director, she has already proven herself to be nothing less than enchanting.
