It doesn’t fit perfectly, but in the case of “Breaking Bad,” it was funny regardless. “The Office” is a mockumentary set in a paper company, while “Sons of Anarchy” focuses on a motorcycle club and its arms business. Despite their vastly different worlds and locations, a hidden connection that many fans overlooked exists between them.
In the last season of FX’s show “Sons of Anarchy”, the head of the Aryan Brotherhood resides in a house that dedicated fans of “The Office” would recognize. The seventh season had an unexpected and imaginative crossover, as characters from the infamous motorcycle club made a visit to the paper salesman’s beet farm, creating an unofficial blend of these two series.
The Sons of Anarchy Went to Schrute Farms
In the piece titled “Faith and Despondency,” Jax, Chibs, Tig, and Happy embark on a ride to encounter Otis. Otis is a prominent figure in the Aryan Brotherhood who was recently freed from prison. Upon reaching the secluded site, one of Leland’s henchmen provokes Tig, which Tig initially tries to ignore at Chibs’ urging. However, Otis appears accepting of the altercation. The situation escalates, leading Tig to fire upon Leland’s man. Naturally, everyone pulls out their weapons in response, but Otis orders his men to stand down. Unfortunately, when one of them disobeys, Jax is forced to shoot him. It later transpires that the conflict was orchestrated to identify those still loyal to Leland.

In another location at the farm or “cabin,” the SAMCROs entice Moses into a situation reminiscent of the “Battle of Schrute Farms” that turned out quite differently. T.O. sends Moses to Otis’ residence following his threat to take an eye. Upon reaching what appears to be an empty house, Moses and his companions discover armed men patrolling the property’s rear. A phone ringing from within an RV catches their attention, and as one of them opens the door, it detonates. The Aryan Brotherhood, SAMCRO, and Grim Bastards, concealed nearby, emerge, guns ablaze. The ensuing confrontation was brutal, but they avenged Bobby’s death after Moses brutally murdered him in a grisly sequence. Otis agrees to clean up the chaos and dispose of the bodies in return for the vehicles. This is the sole instance where Otis and the farm are featured in the action-crime series.
The History of Schrute Farms
The Farm, where Jim and Pam stay in season four’s “Money” episode of The Office, makes its debut. When they learn about Dwight’s Bed and Breakfast venture, they swiftly reserve a room for two at Schrute Farms. Upon arrival, they find themselves presented with three themed rooms to choose from: American, Irrigation, and Night-Time. Pam selects the Irrigation room. Dwight then explains that Schrute Farms is entirely wireless because Mose has stashed away all the cables. However, by the time Otis visited, a satellite dish had been installed on the property, indicating that the issue was later resolved.

In the eighth season, viewers discover that Schrute Farms holds a historical importance, as it is linked to the “Battle of Schrute Farms” during the Civil War. When some employees, alongside their new supervisor Andy, visit Gettysburg, Dwight shares with Erin and Oscar about the bloodiest and most northern battle of the Civil War that supposedly occurred at Schrute Farms. Given Oscar’s doubts, he questioned one of the historians at the national monument regarding this matter. The result was an interesting discovery: Schrute Farms had a unique role in the Civil War, as it served as a secret code for pacifists from both North and South who turned the Pennsylvania farmhouse into an artistic community and a sanctuary from the war conflict. Upon watching a documentary, they found out that “The Battle at Schrute Farms” was actually just a code name, rather than an actual battle.
In a somewhat unexpected yet plausible manner, the narratives of “The Office” and “Sons of Anarchy” could theoretically intertwine. Some Reddit users have speculated that Creed, with his enigmatic past, could serve as the link between the two series. Additionally, hints have been dropped suggesting Dwight’s lineage traces back to parties associated with Nazis. Given Otis is a part of the Aryan Brotherhood, this intricate connection creates an eerie correspondence. From the Emmys perspective, it all made perfect sense.
