‘Salman Khan aisa nahi karega…’: Paresh Rawal defends Ready co-star as he recalls fake story about him not attending his mother’s funeral

Paresh Rawal recently shared some personal experiences about his mother’s passing and the misconceptions that arose afterwards. In an interview with The Lallantop, he stood up for Salman Khan against a derogatory article suggesting Salman had to persuade him to attend his mother’s funeral. The actor asserted emphatically, “I have a clear recollection that Salman Khan wouldn’t behave in such a manner… I am well acquainted with the Khans; they are genuine people.” (I clearly remember that Salman Khan would not act like that… I know the Khans well; they are sincere individuals.)

Rawal expressed that he felt deeply wounded when a newspaper published untrue statements implying his reluctance to attend his mother’s last rites. He suspects the article was planted by someone solely to satisfy another person, as he put it, “He wrote it to please someone else.

Because there were not enough flights available, Paresh had no choice but to endure a whole day’s wait before he could board his late-night flight back to Mumbai. Overwhelmed by his feelings, he attempted to keep his mind occupied by collaborating with Mahesh Manjrekar on a brief scene. “I said, is there anything… perhaps a scene or something to work on… otherwise, I might die,” he recalled saying to the director.

Upon arriving home, Paresh learned that some of his relatives had believed a false report about him and raised doubts. He labeled this situation as “vile” and voiced his profound disillusionment. Later on, he managed to identify the originator of the fake news, but opted not to reveal their name. Instead, he issued a warning that severe penalties would be imposed if they were to cross paths again in the future.
