As a devoted fan, I’d like to share my thoughts about Rishi Kapoor, a legendary figure in Bollywood. On April 30, 2020, we lost him. However, before his passing, he cherished time with his loved ones, including Alia Bhatt, who was then in a relationship with Ranbir Kapoor. On the fifth anniversary of his death, let’s reminisce about a special moment when he couldn’t help but praise Alia’s talent. He admitted that it was no small feat for someone so young to shoulder an entire film.

During an interview with the Hindustan Times back in 2018, Rishi Kapoor discussed his thoughts about the younger generation of actors he had worked with. Specifically, he expressed great admiration for Alia Bhatt, praising her ability to tackle demanding roles in movies like Highway and Raazi. He commented that it’s quite challenging for an actor at such a young age to carry a film on their shoulders, but only a talented actor is capable of doing so.

The seasoned performer mentioned that good fortune was also involved in actors landing roles like these. Furthermore, he noted that Alia benefited from some luck, yet possesses undeniable talent as well.

Alia Bhatt and the late Rishi Kapoor appeared together on screen in both Student of the Year (2012) and Kapoor & Sons (2016). Student of the Year was Alia’s debut film in Bollywood, where she played a student at St. Teresa, while Rishi Kapoor portrayed the role of the Dean.

In the film Kapoor & Sons, Rishi Kapoor played the role of Amarjeet Kapoor, who was the grandfather of Arjun, portrayed by Sidharth Malhotra. Meanwhile, Alia Bhatt took on the character of Tia, the romantic interest of Arjun.

Alia Bhatt penned a touching message following Rishi Kapoor’s passing in 2020. In her words, “I’m grateful to the universe for allowing me to know him… today, many of us may feel as if he was part of our family – such was his ability to make you feel at home! I love you, Uncle Rishi! You will be sorely missed forever! Thank you for being who you were.

In the year 2022, actor Ranbir Kapoor, son of Karz fame, exchanged vows with Alia Bhatt in a private yet enchanting wedding held on their residence’s balcony. Later in the same year, they were blessed with their first child, a daughter named Raha.
