The eight-season long comedy-drama-mystery show, “Desperate Housewives,” which ran from 2004 to 2012, managed to maintain a devoted fanbase even following its conclusion. As a result, this beloved series is now planning a sequel.
The upcoming spin-off series is named “Wisteria Lane” and continues the story on this fictional street in Fairview, Eagle State. Just like Desperate Housewives, it delves into the lives of different residents, but this time around, we’ll meet fresh faces living on the same street.
The fresh spin-off show is a modern take on the popular ABC original series, and currently, it’s being worked on at Onyx Collective. The forthcoming “Wisteria Lane” production stems from Kerry Washington’s Simpson Street, in collaboration with 20th Television.
In a new development, it’s been announced that Natalie Chaidez, the showrunner for “The Flight Attendant” and a producer on “Heroes”, will pen the script for a new show titled “Wisteria Lane“. This spin-off is characterized as an entertaining, sensual, and wickedly humorous soap/mystery, much like the original series. The plot revolves around a close-knit group of friends and rivals who reside on the idyllic cul-de-sac known as “Wisteria Lane“.
At first glance, it appears that all the residents of Wisteria are thriving with their attractive houses, well-groomed families, and luxury SUVs parked in their driveways. However, hidden beyond the white picket fences and cheerful social media posts lie concealed truths.
The TV show titled Desperate Housewives focused on the lives of four main characters: Teri Hatcher (Susan Mayer), Felicity Huffman (Lynette Scavo), Marcia Cross (Bree Van de Kamp), and Eva Longoria (Gabrielle Solis. Brenda Strong portrayed the deceased Mary Alice Young, serving as the series’ narrator. The show also included Nicollette Sheridan as Edie Britt, Dana Delany as Katherine Mayfair, and Vanessa Williams as Renee Perry, who were part of the supporting cast.
