Ritchie is set to take charge based on a screenplay by Will Beall (for the films “Bad Boys: Ride or Die” and “Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F”). Originally premiering at the South by Southwest Festival in March 2024, “Road House” was later released directly on Prime Video, which sparked controversy from director Doug Liman, who believed it should have been shown in theaters instead.

Within its initial two weeks, the platform saw an astounding viewership of over 50 million, marking its highest viewer count ever. Globally, this figure is estimated to be close to 80 million, as reported by Amazon.
