Luka Dončić footed the entire bill to rehabilitate a graffitied tribute of Kobe and Gigi Bryant, affectionately named “Mambas Forever,” situated in downtown Los Angeles. This artwork portrays the late Lakers star in his signature jersey, tenderly clutching Gianna, his beloved daughter, close to him.

On Monday, the Instagram account @kobemural posted videos of the damage and pointed fans towards a GoFundMe initiative launched by Louie “Sloe” Motion, the creator of the mural. By Tuesday, the fundraising target was achieved, largely due to a $5,000 donation from the Los Angeles Lakers guard.
I’m thrilled that he’s now a Laker and embodying Los Angeles, and I believe Kobe is equally pleased. This connection with LA is bound to endear him to everyone here, as he embodies our values well, being an outstanding basketball player and a noble spirit.
In 2018, two years prior to Luka Dončić’s NBA debut, Kobe Bryant had already retired. However, they shared an emotional courtside encounter in 2019 when Bryant astonished Dončić by conversing with him in Slovenian. Although the conversation was brief, it left a profound impact on Dončić and fans alike.
Dončić stated, “Kobe belongs to L.A.” He and Gigi hold immense significance for this city, the Lakers team, and me individually. I’m eager to contribute in any way possible to ensure they and his daughter receive due recognition.
