10 Harmless Quirks in My Hero Academia That Are Surprisingly Useful

In the world of My Hero Academia, there’s an abundance of unique abilities, or Quirks, that one might imagine. These Quirks, even those as extreme as the destructive ones, exist within this universe. However, for every power that could potentially cause harm, there are many more that are entirely benign. Among the most intriguing and unexpected are the Quirks that cannot inflict injury on anyone.

Unique and innocuous traits, either peculiar or intriguing, can prove beneficial in specific scenarios, though they may not be formidable for combat. However, these traits are among the most adorable aspects of “My Hero Academia”, and they are an integral part of their users. Although they lack the allure of grandeur, they more than compensate with their endearing qualities.

Search Is a Powerful Intelligence Tool

As a die-hard fan of this captivating series, I can’t help but marvel at the sheer utility and harmlessness of one particular Quirk – the ability to monitor numerous individuals simultaneously. Characters like Ragdoll utilize this remarkable power to keep tabs on around a hundred people at any given moment. Not only does she know their exact locations, but she can also identify their vulnerabilities. The information she gathers is stored for future use, making her Quirk an invaluable asset. Such extraordinary capabilities make it no surprise that the bearers of these powers are considered so exceptional that they must be “Quirk away”.

In the anime “My Hero Academia”, All For One shows how a powerful ability like Search can potentially be misused for malicious purposes. However, fundamentally, it serves as a surveillance tool that could be employed by either side. It’s unfortunate Ragdoll no longer has her Search Quirk, as it might have been beneficial in the ongoing battle. Yet, it’s heartening to see that she has found her purpose without it in the series.

Black Is Used to Control Objects & Surprise Opponents

From my vantage point, it’s fascinating to witness Shihai Kuroiro from Class 1-B utilize the peculiar ability known as ‘Black.’ Contrary to popular belief, this color isn’t ominous; instead, it imbues Kuroiro with a remarkable capacity. He can seamlessly blend with naturally or artificially dark surroundings when Black is activated. This enables him to traverse shadows and dark objects effortlessly. Moreover, he exerts a certain level of control over items he possesses while Black is active.

Black is often utilized in dim environments, yet it doesn’t automatically imply it’s malicious. Kuroiro’s unique ability, when taken to its extreme, allows him to invade Fumikage Tokoyami’s Dark Shadow form. However, it’s important to note that the power itself isn’t the source of danger. Instead, it serves as a tool for the user to catch opponents off guard or control situations strategically.

Zoom Could Be Used for Spying

As a devoted fan, I can’t help but appreciate Mei Hatsume’s Zoom Quirk, though she doesn’t utilize it often. This extraordinary ability allows her to magnify her vision, giving her a unique perspective on distant objects. With its potential uses in sight, the Zoom Quirk could prove to be an incredibly valuable tool. For instance, it could help Mei gather intelligence or scan a battlefield for survivors, making her a true asset in any situation!

Despite its numerous advantages, Zoom remains one of the less harmful Quirks. While there’s a chance Mei might misuse it for spying maliciously, her intense dedication to her work in the Support Course makes such actions unlikely. Essentially, Zoom is an ability that merely amplifies one’s sight.

Lizard Tail Splitter Can Also Be Used for Reconnaissance

Setsuna Tokage, a member of Class 1-B, possesses an extraordinary ability known as Lizard Tail Splitter. This unique trait enables her to fragment herself into separate yet controllable parts. As she continues to hone her skills, she becomes capable of dividing herself into increasingly smaller fragments. Although there’s a boundary on how long these fragments can be separated, it’s generally harmless overall.

The Lizard Tail Splitter ability is primarily used for surveillance and stealth purposes by Tokage. This unique power allows her to blend in with her surroundings or evade attacks by breaking herself down into smaller, less noticeable components. These fragments can also be sent flying, enabling Tokage to gather information about a location using her eyes, while communicating with distant comrades through her mouthpiece. The Lizard Tail Splitter is an unusual Quirk, but it’s harmless to others.

Float Is Not a Primary Combat Tool

Nana Shimura’s unique ability, known as her Quirk, was initially Float. This allowed her to seem weightless and glide through the air. Unlike characters like Gran Torino or Hawks who can fly, Nana could only use it to gain an advantage in specific scenarios. Despite being a formidable combatant, Nana’s Float Quirk never harmed others.

Nana’s Float Quirk is versatile, allowing her to either drop items on opponents or gain an advantageous position during a fight. However, it’s important to note that the Quirk itself doesn’t inflict damage. Just because it doesn’t harm anything doesn’t mean it’s not valuable. Similarly, Deku often utilizes his Float Quirk in battles for mobility. While Float offers numerous advantages, it isn’t typically a primary weapon in combat situations.

Fat Absorption Can Be Used to Detain & Transport Others

I, an onlooker, find it fascinating how Fat Gum employs his Fat Absorption in a variety of ways. It serves not just as a shield against various assaults, but also as a means to ensnare adversaries. Moreover, this unique ability is utilized to ferry multiple students to and from combat zones. What makes Fat Gum’s Quirk particularly intriguing is that it appears to be one of the least harmful among all.

Consuming large quantities of food is necessary for Fat Absorption to work efficiently over time. Nevertheless, provided that Fat Gum keeps up his body shape, the Fat Absorption ability will safeguard him. The duration it lasts depends on how much energy he expends, but Fat Gum is always stocked with additional snacks if his reserves start to dwindle.

Glamour Is an Astounding Illusion Quirk

Camie Utsushimi possesses an extraordinary talent called Glamour, which allows her to create visual and auditory illusions on command. She often uses this Quirk to deceive others by assuming the appearances of characters such as Shoto Todoroki and Katsuki Bakugo, as she did for a group of excited kindergarteners. Furthermore, Camie can alter the entire appearance of a room if she so chooses.

The ability of glamour, Camie’s unique power, lies in its potential to deceive or mislead opponents. By swiftly altering her Quirk, she can make others think they are somewhere entirely different from their actual location. While glamour isn’t frequently demonstrated within the story, it holds immense promise as one of the most effective Quirks when cunning is required.

Attract Beckons Things to Its User

Inko possesses a practical yet unassuming ability known informally as the Attract Quirk. This talent allows her to summon small objects towards herself. Inko’s unique power has proven beneficial in her daily life, particularly as a single mother, and she wields it effortlessly, making it appear as if it’s an inherent part of her being.

Inko’s ability isn’t particularly powerful, but it does come in handy for everyday chores. Fortunately, she employs her Quirk to maintain cleanliness and safety within her family. Remarkably ordinary, this Quirk is quite benign. However, there’s a slight risk that an object Inko summons might inadvertently strike her or someone else during the process.

Love Empowers Its Recipients

La Brava yearns only for love, making her unique ability, the Love Quirk, incredibly fitting for her. With this power, when she selects a target, they experience increased strength, speed, and other enhancements proportional to how much La Brava cares for them. For someone like Gentle Criminal, who La Brava adores, this could be an extraordinarily potent ability.

It’s plausible that love might intensify a harmful trait even more. Luckily, La Brava is smitten with Gentle Criminal. Normally, though, the Love Quirk is among the most benign. It relies on one of the finest emotions in existence and assists others during their difficult times. Here’s hoping that La Brava experiences as much love as she shares someday.

Heal Helps Stabilize the Injured

At U.A. High School, as the in-house nurse, my healing Quirk works miraculously by reversing damage instead of causing harm. Whenever a student or faculty member sustains an injury, I step in with a comforting kiss, initiating the healing process. My healing abilities aren’t boundless; there are certain injuries beyond its reach. Nevertheless, it’s more than sufficient to keep most of us on our feet at this school that often encounters physical mishaps during tackling and other activities.

Healing is Recovery Girl’s benign superpower. It spares the recipient from excruciating pain and possibly eliminates the need for intrusive surgeries. The U.A. High School would face a significant void if Recovery Girl ever decided to retire. Thankfully, for now during Deku’s time, Recovery Girl remains active, helping countless individuals from suffering grave injuries.
