On May 3rd, the entire Kapoor family came together to bid farewell to their cherished matriarch, Nirmal Kapoor, during her funeral at the age of 90. The heartfelt service took place at the Pawan Hans Crematorium in Mumbai and was graced by numerous members from the extended Kapoor family. Among them were Sonam Kapoor, Arjun Kapoor, Anil Kapoor, Boney Kapoor, Khushi Kapoor, Rhea Kapoor, Shanaya Kapoor, Harsh Vardhan Kapoor, Anshula Kapoor, and Sanjay Kapoor, alongside others. Janhvi Kapoor, looking deeply moved, was present at the ceremony, standing by her grandmother’s side for one last time. Shikhar Pahariya, despite a noticeable hand injury, accompanied Janhvi during this difficult moment.

For quite some time, I’ve had the privilege of knowing Nirmal Kapoor, a remarkable woman who faced age-related health challenges and sought treatment at Kokilaben Ambani Hospital in Mumbai on multiple occasions. Unfortunately, she passed away peacefully on May 2nd, at approximately 5:25 pm, as confirmed by Dr. Santosh Shetty, the esteemed CEO and Executive Director of the hospital.

Nirmal was the beloved wife of the legendary Bollywood producer, Surinder Kapoor, and leaves behind a powerful legacy in her four children—Boney, Anil, Sanjay, and Reena Marwah—and an impressive number of grandchildren who have made significant contributions to the Hindi film industry. Her spirit will live on through them all.

After the funeral service, it has been announced that a memorial prayer gathering for Nirmal Kapoor will take place at the JW Marriott in Juhu, Mumbai on May 5, 2025, from 5 to 6 PM. Boney Kapoor shared this news through an emotional message on his social media account.
