Tarnished Edition Content Will Be Available to Base Elden Ring Game Owners as DLC

During the FromSoftware Games Event Spring 2025 in Tokyo, it’s been announced that the additional content from the Tarnished edition can be obtained by base game owners, referred to as the “Tarnished Collection.

Regrettably, there hasn’t been any official announcement regarding its launch date or cost yet. However, given the potential simultaneous release with the Tarnished Edition on the rumored Switch 2, we wouldn’t be shocked if that were the case.

For those following along, the Tarnished Edition offers the opportunity to customize Torrent’s appearance, as well as four distinct types of armor sets, weapons, and battle strategies, plus two new character classes. Although there isn’t a new territory to explore, it does include a substantial amount of content. I don’t anticipate it will be priced as steeply as the Shadow of the Erdtree expansion, which retailed for $39.99. My prediction? Bandai Namco is likely to set the price at either $10 or $15 for those who already own the base game. Will it be worthwhile? That’s ultimately up to you to decide.

If you’re eagerly anticipating the release of the Tarnished Pack but crave some Elden Ring action sooner, the co-op-centric Elden Ring Nightreign is set to drop later this month, offering a similar experience to its predecessor with plenty of challenging bosses to test your mettle. Although it hasn’t been released yet, leaks suggest that additional character classes and bosses will be introduced after launch.
