TownsFolk adds new mechanics, structures, and compendium in major content update

Short Circuit Studio has recently unveiled an update for their recently launched settlement builder game, TownsFolk, which they have named “Shadows and Fortune.” This new content addition aligns with the game’s darker tone and offers a collection of exciting mechanics for players to explore.

It seems reasonable to anticipate that just because something is newly introduced, it doesn’t necessarily lack depth; this is particularly applicable in this case, as the recent update will introduce fresh buildings and challenges to diversify gameplay. This overhaul includes wandering Barbarians that will heighten the tension of your campaign missions and Skirmish mode, together with eight new structures like the Altar, Town Square, Blacksmith, Aqueduct, Bank, Granary, Factory, and Terraformer.

The water-themed playing pieces will receive an aquatic overhaul, featuring the unique addition of a Whale, along with special locations like the mysterious Obelisks and recently discovered Shipwrecks, all contributing to a more unpredictable gameplay experience.
