Warning: SPOILERS for Andor’s last three episodes are ahead!
To put it simply, fellow Star Wars enthusiasts, we’ve bid farewell to another chapter as Season 2 of Andor has wrapped up, with its last three episodes airing on the 2025 TV lineup. The finale was packed with significant events, including the demise of characters such as Luthen Rael and Major Partagaz, and the long-awaited appearance of K-2SO on the Disney+ exclusive series. For now, let’s zero in on two characters: one who made a dramatic entrance in Andor’s final scene, and another we’ve grown fond of throughout this series, but I eagerly anticipate seeing more of in a distant galaxy.
The Andor Family Line Continues
In the recent episodes of Andor, Cassian Andor found himself confronted with a challenging predicament: whether to persist in his fight for the Rebellion or embrace a fresh start with Bix Calleen. However, fate stepped in through Bix’s encounter with a Force healer in “Messenger”, who revealed that Cassian would play a pivotal role in the Rebellion’s future triumphs. This is indeed borne out in Rogue One, where we witness him contributing significantly to the theft of plans for the first Death Star.
At the conclusion of “Welcome to the Rebellion,” Bix, from Yavin IV, communicates with Cassian through a hologram. She expresses her concern that their relationship might impede his work for the Rebellion. She promises that when the Rebels ultimately overthrow the Empire, she will seek him out and they can at last enjoy the life they dreamed of together. Regrettably, as we know, this scenario never materializes, as Cassian meets his end on Scarif, holding Jyn Erso, just before the occurrences depicted in “A New Hope.

In the last three episodes of Andor, which were set a year later and served as a prequel to Cassian’s story in Rogue One, Bix was scarcely present. However, before the series ended, we had a brief catch-up with Bix, who had been residing on the planet Mina-Rau since the initial episodes of Season 2. As she gazed out at the horizon, she held a baby in her arms. It’s not hard to guess that this infant is hers, and it’s likely we can speculate about the identity of the father.
In the waning years of the Empire’s rule, there’s a young character named Andor who is being introduced to us. Could we discover their name and perhaps re-encounter them later on? Though I can’t guarantee it, I have my doubts that the Star Wars franchise won’t revisit this character at some point. With Diego Luna’s portrayal of Cassian Andor having ended, there’s a possibility we could still see more of his child or Bix. Since the kid was born around that time, it would be plausible for their story to continue during the Sequel Trilogy era. How about they make an appearance in Ryan Gosling’s Starfighter film?
Dedra Meero Is In Prison, But That Doesn’t Mean She Has To Stay There
If you believed that Dedra Meero was already in a tough spot last week following the demise of Syril Karn, it was merely an introduction to the hardships yet to unfold. With her unwavering pursuit for Axis over the years, Dedra managed to identify Luthen Rael as the key figure. In an unauthorized attempt to capture him, she met with a challenging turn of events. Alas, before she could pressure him for information, Luthen had already slashed his wrist with a knife from his antique store, causing him to fall into a coma.
Deedra’s single action led to her being apprehended by the Imperial authorities, as her leaders had emphasized that Axis was no longer her priority. However, things took a turn for the worse when Kleya, who served as Luthen’s assistant at the store and effectively acted as his surrogate daughter, secretly disabled Luthen’s life support system to prevent him from being tortured for information about the Rebellion once he regained consciousness.
However, the sweetest part of this unpleasant ice cream scooped in poodoo flavor turned out to be when Imperial investigators found that Luthen had obtained some information about the Death Star from his contact within the Empire, Lieutenant Supervisor Lonni Young (whom he subsequently eliminated), and passed it on to Kleya for sharing with the Rebellion. This revelation, though incorrectly assumed by Orson Krennic that Dedra Meero was a spy who’d disclosed these secrets, ultimately caused irreparable harm.
Partagaz opted for suicide to avoid being blamed for Kleya’s escape from Coruscant, while Dedra ended up in a prison reminiscent of Narkina 5 where Cassian was detained during Season 1.

Titled ‘We’re Reimagining Canon’: Andor Showrunner Discusses the Significance of the Major Mon Mothma Scene Departing from Star Wars Rebels
A Look at the New Canon Interpretation’
Having Marathon-Viewed Andor Season 2, I can’t help but say that the Cinema Re-run of Revenge of the Sith was indeed a splurge worth every penny.
After watching all of Andor Season 2, seeing Revenge of the Sith in theaters again was definitely a good use of my money.
In the final scene of Dedra Meero in Andor, she’s visibly crying due to her life’s disappointments. It might seem like she’ll serve out her days in prison, but consider this: the Empire won’t last much longer, about half a decade from now. When the Empire collapses, the New Republic may reconsider the prisoners and decide who deserves freedom and who should stay incarcerated. I believe Dedra might be among those who remain imprisoned, but I secretly wish it’s the opposite.
As a passionate movie enthusiast, I can’t help but reflect on Dedra Meero’s character from Andor. In her relentless pursuit of advancement and respect among her peers, she made choices that were questionable at best, and downright despicable at worst. Her ambition, while admirable in its intensity, ultimately led to her downfall when she reached too far in her quest to capture Axis.
It’s only natural to hope that her time behind bars would serve as a wake-up call, prompting her to acknowledge the wrongs she committed. However, I don’t believe that the New Republic should simply set Dedra free, given her past actions which could be seen as war crimes.
Instead, I envision a scenario where Dedra, recognizing the gravity of her actions and seeking redemption, offers her services to the New Republic. This cooperation could potentially reduce her sentence or earn her leniency, allowing her to make amends for her past transgressions.
Instead of dismissing Dedra as beyond redemption, let’s hope that “Star Wars” provides another opportunity to focus on her character. It would be intriguing to witness how her sharp intellect could be utilized for a noble cause and if she genuinely strives to make amends for her past actions as an Imperial officer. If it doesn’t occur on-screen, perhaps we can explore Deedra’s journey in a novel later on.
Following the conclusion of Andor, we have two exciting new entries on the horizon from the Star Wars TV series lineup: the second season of Ahsoka and the newly-unveiled Maul – Shadow Lord. These shows are projected to premiere in 2026, so stay tuned for further updates on their development!
