We’re excited to welcome Michael Jordan to his new role as a special contributor.” Accompanying this message was a compilation of Jordan’s past moments with NBC. This position is part of an 11-year agreement starting from the 2025-26 season, and at present, the specifics of his role have not been made public. This will be Jordan’s first television job in relation to the league since his retirement in 2023. Throughout his career in the NBA, he amassed six championship rings and received five Most Valuable Player awards. From 2010 until his retirement in 2023, he was also the owner of the Charlotte Hornets.

As for NBC, the network returns to covering the NBA for the first time since 2002.
