Michael J. Fox Joins Apple’s ’Shrinking’ Season 3 in Guest Role

Michael J. Fox is set to return to acting after some years, taking on a part in the third season of the show “Shrinking”.

As a thrilled fan, I’m excited to share that I’ll be making a special appearance on the laughter-filled stage of Apple TV+’s hit comedy series. Although the specifics about my role are being tightly guarded for now, I can’t wait for you all to see what unfolds in season three of “Shrinking,” which is currently being brought to life during production.

The last time Fox appeared on screen acting was in “The Good Fight” in 2020, where he reprised his Emmy-nominated role as lawyer Louis Canning. Off-screen, the actor has been battling Parkinson’s disease for over three decades and has successfully raised over $2 billion for research through his foundation named after him. In the series “Shrinking”, it was revealed that Harrison Ford’s character, Paul Rhoades, has Parkinson’s, as shown in season one.

Fox’s diminishing appearance marks a reunion for him and his longtime collaborator Bill Lawrence. They previously worked together on ABC’s “Spin City,” where Lawrence made his debut as a series creator, and Fox also made an appearance on “Scrubs.

Fox becomes part of the ensemble for the third season alongside Jeff Daniels, Sherry Cola, and Isabella Gomez in the series Shrinking. The show’s co-creator Jason Segel, along with Ford, Christa Miller, Jessica Williams, Luke Tennie, Michael Urie, Lukita Maxwell, and Ted McGinley, also star.

Lawrence Segel, along with Lawrence Goldstein and Brett Goldstein, are responsible for the creation of the show titled “Shrinking“. They serve as executive producers alongside Neil Goldman, James Ponsoldt, Jeff Ingold, Liza Katzer, Randall Winston, Annie Mebane, Rachna Fruchbom and Brian Gallivan, Ashley Nicole Black and Bill Posley. The production is handled by Warner Bros. Television, where Lawrence Segel and Goldstein have existing deals, as well as Lawrence’s Doozer company.

Fox is repped by UTA and Vision PR.

Deadline first reported the news.
