Despite the upcoming release of Stellar Blade on PC within a year, it remains uncertain that the game will be accessible in more than 100 countries due to unspecified factors.

Fans have eagerly anticipated the PC version of Stellar Blade for various reasons, but it appears that playing this game may now present a challenge due to its region locking on Steam.

Despite the excitement surrounding the PC version of Stellar Blade, boasting numerous eagerly awaited features, it’s important to note that not all these features will be available to everyone. The developers of Stellar Blade, SHIFT UP, have acknowledged this problem and are working towards a solution. In the same announcement, they also discussed integrating Digital Rights Management (DRM) in the game, with PlayStation Network account linking being an optional feature.

There’s still a bit of waiting left until the PC version of the game launches on June 11, 2025. Let’s keep our fingers crossed that SHIFT UP and Sony manage to sort out their issues in the meantime.

Why Is Stellar Blade Region Locked and Not Playable in Over 100 Countries?

It appears that this problem might originate from the linking of accounts on the PlayStation Network, a feature available in specific games. Previously, similar regional restrictions have been observed in games published by Sony.

Among the games listed – God of War: Ragnarok, Spiderman 2, Ghost of Tsushima, and others – there are certain regions where they cannot be played. This limitation is quite consistent across these titles. Additionally, Helldivers 2 experienced widespread impact due to enforcing mandatory PlayStation Network account linking. Fortunately, this problem was subsequently addressed.

Even though connecting your PSN account to Stellar Blade isn’t necessary, it appears there’s an ongoing problem with that process. Fingers crossed, you’ll soon be able to play this game from any location.
