Akansha Ranjan Kapoor is currently enjoying the overwhelming praise for her charming series, Gram Chikitsalay. In this production, she played the role of Dr. Gargi, a character that viewers have adored since its debut. Reflecting on the show’s triumph, the actress not only expressed joy but also reminisced about an unexpected response from a casting director when she was chosen for the series.

In a recent chat with Mid-day, Akansha Ranjan Kapoor shared that the last week has been quite a rollercoaster ride following the debut of her web series, Gram Chikitsalay. Despite feeling anxious about how the audience would respond to her character, she’s ‘delightfully shocked’ by the warm reception and affection shown towards her.

She shared that the response has been positive and continues to improve daily. Furthermore, she noted that her character is a popular topic among people, who are creating memes and discussing it extensively, leaving an impression on her.

Beyond what was mentioned earlier, she shared an unanticipated response from a casting director regarding her selection as the village girl character. She expressed, “It seems others can envision me in this part. I ran into a casting director who commented, ‘Who chose you for this? I wouldn’t have considered you for such a role.’ Thus, I wish people would perceive me differently from now on.

Akansha, having entered the industry with her debut single “Guilty” in 2020, is thankful for the chances she’s been given thus far. She also expressed her hope that others would give her a try, disregarding the influence of social media algorithms and statistics.

The actress asserted that when she entered the profession, her aim was for her performances to be the voice for her. She openly acknowledged avoiding the competitive race of popularity on social media. Yet, she acknowledges that raw acting talent isn’t the sole necessity anymore, and she is striving to meet the evolving demands of the market.
