In Monster Hunter Wilds, The Bow stands out as an engaging and distinctive weapon. While some aspects of its equipment may initially seem perplexing, familiarity with its use makes these complexities diminish significantly. Before long, you’ll find yourself effortlessly unleashing a barrage of arrows against the monsters.
In my own experience, I prefer agile and swift movements when wielding the bow. This guide offers some build suggestions that have proven successful in numerous hunting expeditions for me.
In essence, you should primarily concentrate on ensuring your safety during lower levels, and as you progress, prioritize endurance. Given that most of your arrows consume some stamina, it’s advisable to keep it replenished frequently.

In this Low Rank construction, there’s a strong emphasis on Evade Window, Stamina Surge, and Focus. Evade Window and Stamina Surge are crucial for keeping you alive and dishing out damage, while Focus speeds up your attack charging process.
- Evade Window – Extends the invulnerability period when evading.
- Stamina Surge – Speeds up stamina recovery.
- Focus – Increases the fill rate for weapons with gauges and the charge rate for weapons with charge attacks.
Even though maintaining a considerable space might not be feasible, you can continuously fire arrows at the creatures for an extended duration without such lengthy cooldown intervals. This ensures that your damage output remains steady during combat, eliminating long periods where you’re left idle.
You have the option to adjust some of your Hirabami equipment to fit your requirements more effectively, but I recommend holding onto the Xu Wu gear because it offers Stamina Surge. Alternatively, you could craft a Talisman that boosts Stamina Surge to its maximum level in this particular setup.

Similar to the Low Rank construction, our focus will primarily be on Evade Window, Stamina Surge, Vitality, and Agitator. Essentially, at higher levels, these skills will help you maintain a nearly constant maximum stamina level.
- Constitution – Reduces stamina depletion when evading, blocking, or doing certain other actions.
- Agitator – Increases attack power and affinity when large monsters become enraged.
Given that high-rank monsters are usually infuriated, you’ll notice an increase in the damage you deal due to the Agitator skill. While there’s some flexibility with your equipment decorations, I suggest equipping
the Critical Boost decal,
the Critical Element decal, and
the Weakness Exploit decal.
This equipment reduces the frequency of monster attacks on you, and should you still get hit, it ensures that you won’t be stunned or interrupted during your attack sequence. In essence, it provides a protective advantage in combat against monsters.
Take time to experiment with lots of different skills to see what suits you best personally.

For those with a lower rank, I suggest acquiring the item as it offers both Exhaust Coating and Focus, which can be quite beneficial. The Quematrice isn’t overly challenging, making it accessible for you.
Top-tier gamers won’t make a mistake by choosing this bow that boasts incredible damage along with the dual benefits of Ballistics and Special Ammo Boost. These enhancements amplify your shooting range and the power of your special shots such as the Dragon Piercer.
There are numerous secondary ornamental elements, such as, that allow for the usage of diverse types of ammunition. It’s wise to incorporate at least one into your setup to maintain ammo variety.
After you have a plan for your build, implementing it tends to become smoother. Remember, if you’re playing with others, coordinating your actions could often prove beneficial.
