Capcom has revealed that the realms of Monster Hunter Wilds and Street Fighter 6 are merging, with a well-known character from the fighting game series joining the action-RPG as an armor set.
The history of Monster Hunter collaborations is quite impressive, featuring partnerships such as those with the mecha series Zoids, musical instrument manufacturer Fender, and popular YouTube personality MrBeast over just a few recent years.
Starting from now, Capcom will be including “Street Fighter” in their roster, as a new armored ensemble inspired by the demon warrior Akuma is being incorporated into “Monster Hunter Wilds” as a layered armor set on May 28th (which falls on next Wednesday).
In the latest update of the game, you can encounter Akuma in a new mission called Ultimate Strength. To access this mission, you must have reached Hunter Rank (HR) 21 or higher. Start the mission by speaking to Quinn at Oilwell Basin Base Camp. Additionally, there are two other missions, Demonic Strength and True Strength, that offer extra rewards if you’re up for a challenge.
After acquiring the Akuma armor, you have two options for its usage: it can be worn as standard armor or layered armor. Regardless of your choice, both will grant you access to Akuma’s exclusive abilities, which mimic the fighting style seen in Street Fighter 6.
Apart from Akuma, this collaboration also introduces an adorable set of “Blanka-Chan” Palico armor and layered equipment. This allows you to give your small feline friend a look inspired by the Street Fighter 6 character Blanka, in a more compact and cute version of him.
You won’t have to pay for the Akuma and Blanka armor sets in Monster Hunter Wilds, as they will be permanent additions to the game. However, if you want more content, additional paid DLC featuring Chun-Li and Cammy outfits, along with themed extras, can be purchased.
Currently, you can play “Monster Hunter Rise” on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S consoles. On May 28th, the “Street Fighter 6” collaboration update will be released.
