Lately, the actress has shared an amusing tale of her reaction when she found out that the film had been officially chosen for the festival – a story you won’t want to miss!

Recently, while chatting with The Hollywood Reporter India, they posed a question about the instant I learned that my film “Homebound” would be gracing the Cannes Film Festival. I must admit, the news hasn’t completely seeped into my consciousness yet; I’m still wrapping my head around it all.

The actress expressed her gratitude for being included in the film, revealing that she hadn’t given thought to its potential selection. She reminisced about informing director Neeraj Ghaywan that she was delighted to have been a part of the production.

Later on, Janhvi remembered it was quite late and she was at a social gathering when Neeraj called her. She said, “And he exclaims, ‘I’ve just received the email, we’ve been accepted into this category!'” The actress of Dhadak expressed that she couldn’t even pronounce the name of the category they were accepted into.

Janhvi recounted, “As soon as I discovered what had happened, I rushed over and yelled and gasped. Neeraj told me to calm down because he couldn’t discuss it then, mentioning that he would later send me guidelines.” She explained, “The conversation became quite formalized right away.

Ishaan Khatter and Vishal Jethwa star in the movie Homebound, which debuted in the Un Certain Regard section at the 78th Cannes Film Festival. As per the festival’s official website, the film’s storyline goes like this: Two friends from a small North Indian village aspire for a police job that they believe will provide them with the respect they’ve been lacking. However, as they draw nearer to their goal, their friendship is put to the test by growing tension.

The movie “Homebound” was penned and supervised by Neeraj Ghaywan. This production was handled by Karan Johar, Adar Poonawalla, Apoorva Mehta, and Somen Mishra.
