A participant in the Skyrim game stumbled upon an NPC (Non-Player Character) that certain players find incredibly dull, yet others might view as a true hero. YouTube user Mike, also known as The Gaming Dad, chanced upon this character at the East Empire Company Warehouse in Solitude.
Instead of some non-player characters (NPCs), this one stands out as Snorreid. You can locate him inside the warehouse, taking rest on a bedroll tucked away in a corner. If addressed, he has only one thing to say: “You’re not allowed here.
In a remarkably laid-back manner, Snorreid speaks his line without ever leaving his bedroll, giving the impression that he’s still asleep (most characters in Skyrim would rise to talk). It seems this is just typical for Snorreid who, acting like a Nord deity of idle work ethic, spends all his time snoozing. He never wakes up, never takes a stroll, and never engages in any activities. And it’s likely that the East Empire Company continues to pay him despite this.
In a rare case, provoking a fight with Snorreid causes a character to abruptly wake up. It seems only in such dire circumstances is it acceptable for them to rise from their slumber.
There seems to be no one or thing called Snorreid in the game, but there are suggestions that he might have played a more significant part in one of the quests. For instance, his cherished sleeping roll is positioned near a room containing a quest item, specifically the East Empire Shipping Map. Additionally, it’s worth noting that within the Creation kit, Snorreid is identified as a Non-Player Character (NPC) from Solitude rather than a member of the East Empire Company faction.
In essence, it appears that this individual is excelling in life, while the Dragonborn seems more prone to chaos and conflicts. Snorreid, on the other hand, seems to embody a laid-back attitude, as if to say “I’m already at the top, so why strive for more.” I find myself struggling to identify with those who view him as dull. However, he serves as an inspiration for my aspirations of a peaceful and successful retirement.
On YouTube, some individuals can be quite harsh towards him. As BuxyCat commented, “Snorreid is a game tribute dedicated to Bethesda’s bug-fixing squad.” Purr!
Despite the current buzz surrounding Oblivion: Remastered, it’s left me craving more Skyrim. I’ve immersed myself in this game extensively, yet I can’t remember a place called Snorreid at all, even though I must have been close to its location. That ancient sleep trick is some exceptional stealth, indeed.
This game is filled with endless mysteries, always offering something fresh to explore – unless you’re an avid player who aims to achieve everything possible, collecting every item, bonus, and reaching level 1,337. However, it’s undeniable that Skyrim is truly a remarkable game, as demonstrated by Starfield.
