Netflix announces initial glimpses and release date for a freshly brewed comedy series jointly created by Chuck Lorre. Most famously recognized as the co-creator of The Big Bang Theory, Lorre is an acclaimed TV producer and scribe who has crafted several successful television programs, including Roseanne, Two and A Half Men, and Mom.
Following the conclusion of “The Big Bang Theory” in 2019, its co-creator continued his work, focusing on the spinoff series “Young Sheldon,” which aired from 2017 to 2024. As “Young Sheldon” drew to a close following the demise of George Sr. (played by Lance Barber), the co-creator then moved on to develop another franchise prequel, titled “Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage.” Additionally, in collaboration with Nick Bakay, he also created the Prime Video series entitled “The Bookie,” featuring Sebastian Maniscalco, Omar J. Dorsey, and Jorge Garcia.

[Comments from Lorre]
If you’ve caught just ten seconds of Leanne Morgan’s stand-up act, it’s clear she’s a one-of-a-kind comedic powerhouse. The universal topic of new beginnings suits her perfectly, and I can’t imagine anyone else blending heartfelt emotion with humor quite like Leanne does. When the opportunity to collaborate with her came up, I jumped at it. I’m thrilled to announce that her story will soon be available on Netflix!
Leanne’s dance style focuses on humor, television programs, and situation comedies, making her upcoming project on Netflix this summer an especially intriguing one.
